There has already been 7000 tickets sold plus 2200 season ticket

anyway I'm going for 15-20K, I'd rather be too high and have
some misery guts say i told u so, than underestimate the magic of

Attendance figs are based on bodies through the gate. 2,200
aren't counted if they don't turn up.

I have heard so many contradicting stories as to how the
official figures are calculated I dont know what to believe.
And then sometimes they just make up a figure and multiply a
few times for the media anyway - like Tana's 20k for his farewell
match

Tangent!
Crowd counting.
Political Activist count - Actual number X 25.
Police count - Actual number / 25
Chinese Government count - NIL
Journalist with axe to grind count - Actual number / 3
Sympathetic journalist count - Actual number X 3.
I'll shut up now...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

The scary thing is how accurate this is.
I've stood next to media at quite a few events and you regularly hear them discussing how they're going to report the turnout.

Was at the Rugby last night - according to the paper today - there
were just over 8000 there - that is a load of boll**cks - would
have been 5000 tops...
A good game though, and first of a double header win for Wellington.....
As for atmosphere - this consisted of a tape with pre-recorded chants "Wellington, Wellington, Wellington" - etc etc, played about every 15 mins or so. Plus this obligatory music every time there is a break.
The biggest cheer was for the kiddies tug'owar at half time...

It was 11487
Thats alright I expect it to drop below 10k next game.

not the best time for 'families' 7.00pm sat, but an away win v
Sydney should help boost numbers
better weather would have seen more today and despite the
result i think most will be back - for the first 3/4s of the match
we were superior

still a good crowd given the weather wasn't that great.
What impreses me is the mix of the crowd, young, old, female,
male and indeterminate. We had an older lady sitting next to us
whose grandson (im assuming) went off to the Yellow Fever zone, but
based on the singing and screaming she was doing she would be a
natural in asile 21 she looked like she absolutly loved it (and to
think I apologised to her in advance for any language
outbusrts that may escape my mouth).
Kudos to the women at half time whos said that she supports
any team that comes from Wellington, great stuff.

a home win to get the crowds

I think the wether today did effect the game but not in major
numbers, maybe around 2-3k.
Good turnout none the less.
Great crowd too.
We did go a bit quite when it mattered most, just after we ate
that goal.

just thinking a bit more about your comment;
if the following two statements are true
i) that people's actions are influenced by other
people's expectations
(and that the effect is stronger when those people are in the
same social group)
ii) that a large number of non-season ticket holders read this
board (highly likely - as we have aprox 2.8 k, ticket holders
approx 2.2k, and there are almost always guests viewing)
then you are influencing people not to come to our next home
game

as a mostly casual peruser of this forum,There are more than enough
people getting behind the team to cancel out the mopey blokes
that for some reason have to have a dig at anyone and everyone...
the fever lads and lasses are doing us all proud!!! I'll
be down there every chance i get, draggin along anyone who will
come with!
It's been a long time since football of this quality has been
down our way, i'm making the most of it. And our boys are
fighting hard, Get amongst it j, and bring some more of your crew
along!! do it!!
