It seems the trend everywhere is to stop giving these out...I can understand it in rugby (mucho embarrasment to the sponsors media et all) but its creeping in here too...anyone know a site for all A league games or just the phoenix?

Phoenix ones are always here:

http://www.westpacstadium.co.nz/2008

Just don't compare them with recent Lions' turnouts.

Go on the aleague site.  Click on results. Under the match summary for each game they give crowd numbers.

They always announce them at the ground as well as in the papers here in Malbin.

Looking at the westpac site and the a-league site there are conflicting attendance figures. The ones on the a-league site are the ones that are broadcast during the game on the big screen.

1st game vs Roar, westpac site: Attendance: 9,077; a-league site: CROWD : 10516 and I am sure that the last game was a couple hundred more than reported on the westpac site

Edit: PSC final was also under what was shown on the big screen

I was around in Ailse 15 last Sunday and I have to say, the Fever Zone looked half empty. Especially with the front 5 rows being empty.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Eh? Half FULL from where I was.
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Bring back Friday night games for next season. Anyone noticed that the amount of kids have increased but the amount of adults have gone down?

Its getting more and more like the Rugby all the time.

I think that the numbers on the stadium website are from ticketec so they are more than likely the real figures. The one they put up on the big screen is always wrong because its an estimate and the A-League or Phoenix people put it up there not the stadium. They know how many season passes are sold and how many members etc but they don't know how many tickets are sold on the day until well after the game so that's the part they estimate. Same goes for rugby. Thats my theory anyway.TopLeft072008-09-18 21:46:04

Agree, the zone hasn't been as packed as usual.

I put it down to over-zealous security

Exactly, I haven't even sat in the zone the alst two games, even though my season pass is right in there.

Thats because the people I go with get tickets through work which aren't in the zone so aren't allowed in there, even though theres heaps of space, particularly up the back.

If the seat is unoccupied, let someone sit/stand in it. It the ticket holder shows up, just move to another empty seat and let them have their seat. Quite simple really.

their over zealous for a reason - because you want them to be i mean i got banned from the stadium for 2 years cause some guy in the zone had a whine to a security guard that i was swearing wasnt a kid in sight - some people really just needa enjoy themselves and stop complaining then the red badge might be able to watch the game instead of policing all these stupid policys that have come up from people complaining

You and I both know that there was more to you being banned than swearing..but then dont let the truth get in the way of a good story!!!!!!!!!

With regards to the Fever Zone, it is allocated seating as discussed at the AGM. It is really simple..if you want to stand in the Fever Zone, get a Fever Zone ticket. If you don't have a Fever Zone ticket, you won't be able to stand in the zone regardless of if it's empty or not. Arguing with the Security guys won't change that point.  If you feel aggrevied, then perhaps take it up with the Stadium.

Everyone should at least know that swearing can be an offense not only to small kids but to others as well . . .

It can lead to legal grounds for assault if you use swearing as a mean to threaten physical harm to a person, whether or not actual harm is done.

. . . Not that I was where, but I thought I'll bring a legal disposition to educate the fans here for future unknowns. AllWhitebelievr2008-09-19 18:37:25

A) Your chants were destructive

b) To claim that you alone make the YF sound good is just idiotic

Were games last season on Fridays?

I have to say, I'm not too keen on Sundays at 5pm - most people work on Mondays so you can't really have a good drink, and pretty much everything is closed after the game anyway!

Football at 3pm on Saturdays is the best time, but Friday nights are ok too, or Saturdays.

Anyone know why the games are even on Sundays?
