Alas, there were some in the crowd that really pissed me off tonight. Throwing the beer bottle!

Unfortunately I was about 10 rows in front of them but look closely at this picture and you might recognise them. They were at the top of Aisle 23.

You better come inside the Feverzone LG - its safer!

Grr,
bring a friend, work colleague,
buy them a pint.
Holiday season was a big struggle for the Knights.
Hopefully you can do an after work thing.
Geez Wellington is ideal, finish work, have pint, walk to footie.
Compare to Auckland, finish work, struggle through traffic, miss dinner, get to Knights just after kick off, one in eight chance of a win, 50 people singing, 2,000 regulars slightly depressed, go home definitely depressed.  Try to explain to wife why I support a club that loses so often.  Say I support my local team, I'm not a fair weather friend.  She jokes that it would be good if I watched in dry weather.
Hey, Wellington, you've got it easy, get up, get out and go to the match.

Amen.

What the f**k is their problem with the fever zone? Friendly banter is one thing but some of the sh*t coming out from them tonight was not what Nix fans are about. Sorry guys - and women, you did yourselves no favours tonight.

WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME f**kEN SIDE SUPPORTING THE SAME TEAM - WELL I THOUGHT WE WERE MEANT TO BE!!

Not sure I'm comfortable with posting pictures, trial by internet - very scary.

That's really disgusting. The Fever Zone is perhaps the friendliest bunch of supporters you'll ever come across, so what these geezers have against us, I have no idea. Awesome work with the amateur private eye stuff, Lonegunmen.

The funniest thing I noticed last night was with the infamous "Stand up... for the Phoenix" chant. Once again, it would seem, we were all hopelessly out of tune, and this was a source of deep frustration for some poor bloke in aisle 23. He was leaning over towards the 'zone and screaming "NO! NOOOO! THAT'S NOT HOW YOU SING IT! YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! GAAAH!"

What's even funnier is that we got the "You're sh*t... and you know it's true!" chant down perfectly, and it's the same bloody tune. Same old Fever, always original.

Am I the only one who finds the covert camera a bit creepy?

I find the bottle throwing worse than the camera. Frankly, I'm glad LG and others are actually proactively trying to stop the problem. Besides, the media have tonnes of cameras at the game photographing the crowds. The only difference is that the media cameras don't catch bottle t**sers in the act. If you're there to watch the football, you've got nothing to worry about.

So taking a photo of 20 people from distance is supposed to prevent bottle throwing? Call me a cynic but he's no Dog the Bounty Hunter.

FFS i reckon some one is gona wreck the games with the bottle throwing. On a nicer note the crowd sounded GREAT, especially when the penalty was disallowed, glad to see seo got heaps everytime he got the ball.

There are also cct cameras now installed and there's one right above aisle 21 that can pan around in any direction. no doubt footage is being colated and when the same faces keep showing up, appropriate action will be taken by the authorities.

Ok, so I am playing amateur policeman but do you want real policemen in our area? I was hoping some self policing might curb this activity. I thought we had stopped the beer throwing and bottle throwing.  It's quite easy really, sing, dance and shout is easy and is what it is all about. Not spraying people with beer. How many times does this simple message have to be repeated.

I wonder if those detractors of my actions have the balls to stand up and take an active role by also letting these offenders know it is not cool to behave in this way??

Why not sing a chant, Your just a f%^*@$g moron" to the section of crowd where the bottle was thrown from, this should hopefull attract security to the matter and humilate the person who threw it.

Good idea Hammer4 ever. i have to say, out of all the crowds at all of our games it only seems tobe about 2% causing any issues, yet it also appears to be the same 2% nearly every time.

I'm just not sure why crowd n umbers are down a bit. I mean, nearly 15,000 turned up to see Melbourne at the start of the season, then supporter membership has risen, as has interest and publicity, yet numbers are down a bit. I was probably too optimistic in thinking 12,000 or more would come to see the Roar. What happened to those other people there at the start of the year? Are people really that fickle that they only turn out to back a winner? I mean, the weather has been primo, and the football good. What more can you ask for?

i was disappointed to see after the game as i was heading out of the stadium two young men in there 20's trying to have a fight when one of the men pushed the other one into a young child about 5 or 6 thats unacceptable really. these are the people who should stay away.

Good on you Lonegunman for taking a stand.
I hope the photography doesn't interfere with your concentration on the game though!

American accent:
I hereby pledge to tell people off when they do bad things like throwing bottles

well i'm watching the toffees v west ham game and i've heard "stand up if you like west ham" twice now and THEY sing it worse than us, so the whole "your not singing it right" is becoming tiresome  (sorry it's 5am ffs)

I believe the reasons for this, in no particular order are :

Becks weekend (an expensive weekend for some)
Xmas (an expensive time for everyone)
Work functions (for some people free drinks are better than the nix)

given the time of year I think 9k is a great turnout.

hopefully numbers will pick up for Jan the 4th, last home game and all...

Just a suggestion...if you see someone throw a bottle and we (Red Badge are not there...difficult to believe if its anywhere near aisles 21 to23), come and get one of us...my team are always in the concourse between 18 and 24...point out the thrower and we will take it from there....

I would like to say the santa hats looked great and once again, thanks to the majority of the fans who were great on Friday night.

I was watching those guys in the photo but could not see them doing anything that warranted a friendly chat, unfortunately there were plenty of others on Friday who did require such a chat and more...oh well  it is the silly season and they are the minority.

Once again, thanks to the fans for making the Ring of Fire the best sounding ground and the place with the best fans.

Have a good break to all the Fever fans and I will see you on the 4th.

So we have Red Badge people on the forums? Good. That can only help forge a successful partnership between us in the zone and the security people. We can get an understanding of what is acceptable for both parties and keep the zone loud, energetic and fun without causing unnecessary concern.

M O - your post was largely focused on the issue of getting chants  right and then you get the words wrong

how can you blame DLB for smacking the ball into the back of the net, if you cough the ball up in your own 6 yard box??
