Just wondering if u guyes could spot greek fever on the opposide side of the crowd to u guyes? We tried doing some chants "Oly oly oly Phoenix phoenix" possibly wasnt loud enough for u too hear it tho. We also had 2 Large greek flags on poles and one large flag being held up could this be spotted at all?

I thought it was against FFA policy to have ethnic flags other than Kiwi and Aussie at games due to the problems in the past with the NSL clubs?! I know that a Scotland flag was removed during the game on Sunday because of that.

What is the point of Greek Fever?

I mean, I'm half Dutch, I have a Dutch passport and I follow the Dutch national football team (kind of), but the idea of taking a Dutch flag to a Victory game to stand with other Dutch and half Dutch supporters to sing songs in Dutch is weird to me.

I think this thread shows a massive back-down from the greek lads.  Before the season they were all "Greek Fever is going to be really loud, and will bounce back chants that the fever zone sings".

Actually, it was "greek feva is gona b real lowd an wil bance bac chans dat da feva zone sing.  Booyashaka".

Now it is "did you see us.....we had a flag."

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Haha we just do it as a laugh and u guyes going all serious now thinking we were trying to compete against yellow fever or something. Greek Flags give the game some european flavour. To tell u da truth we just do it for a laugh. We chant for phoenix of course and support them just as much as anyone if not more. Very passionate supporters but ye i can understand you guyes thinking its a bit odd but thats the way we dooz it. And if you dont like steve 2 words please:

Have you spotted the Millwall flag of St George at the games? it was flown at all Millwall home games and most away games plus 2004 FA Cup Final and during the Lions European tour.

The problem with all the flags and stuff is that most people don't care, especially if there is a good game of football to watch. There is more chance of them paying attention to my left nut than caring what flags are waving (my right nut might get a little jealous of the attention though) UberGunner2007-09-11 15:11:17

is Greek fever that collection of old Olympic supporters that come to all the Team Wellington games? plus rogues like mikey halikias perhaps? They are a key part of wellington footy, but I cant imagine too much noise form them... as pavlos is saying, from my time watching wellington footy, its all just a bit of a laugh boys, theyll be 100% behind phoenix

Thanks yellowfury you pretty much sum it all up in one post. It's all about having a little fun.

I laugh at everyone talking about inciting racial violence ... over-reaction of the century.

Evidently there is a secret conspiracy against Scottish 'ethnics' in our stewarding policy, for a Saltire flag to be take down by security whilst a St George Cross flies freely is an insult to all fair minded (scottish) people

Anyway - I moved to Aisle 18 for the last 10 mins - and most of the senior characters that you would associate with Olympic seemed to be in the Phoenix lounge.

I've a feeling that Greek Fever is the Grade 10 team

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!

Did anyone understand what he just said? I understand it all being a laugh, but I, along with the majority of Yellow Fever fans, don't understand why you dont just come over and support the lads in the FeverZone. I'm positive you would enjoy the game a lot more instead of being removed from the atmosphere on the other side of the stadium. It's not like you will be chastisized, the more people in aisle 22, the better!

lol u boys shud light flares and sorry if it wasnt understandable

i said they passed the rule before the aleague was established cause of ethnic tensions in clubs in the nsl n that football is about passion not fighting

Thank you for clarification. And I agree with you.

I think flares add fantastic atmosphere and ambience to the game. Unfortunately, as we all saw at the recent Adelaide vs Melbourne game, people are not responsible enough with them to let them be allowed into grounds. The risks outweigh the benefits unfortunately.

Alright here is the gaffer of Greek Fever Uncle Steve to clarify everything...

If pavlos said that quote then null and void it.

Next point.
I swear Greek Fever is made up by 10 year olds on this forum

[Generic laugh] Ha Ha Good one...

---

And finally...

Yellowfever is a supporters group of wellington phoenix.
Greekfever is a supporters group of wellington phoenix who carry greek flags which makes them feel better about themselves, me being one of them.

I dont see any reason for violence to break out in the stadium as some of you point to...

We would love to come sit with the YF boys but it looks really cramped over there and i would have no where to put my handbag.

But in all seriousness i think with the yellow fever boys chanting and the greek fever boys chanting we should create an atmosphere which is electric.

Greek flags look cool...to us. Didnt see why pavlos opened this thread, just gets me into more sh*t and haf to explain the same thing for the 20th time...

Keep it up you Fever boys...the Yellow and Blue will meet one day...To make Yellow with a hint of blue fever.

Drop it somewhere where it won't affect others? What, like 500km off shore? It's a flare! It's sole purpose is to affect others!!

I remember watching the Euro 2004 final on a big screen in Lonsdale Street (Melbourne's little Athens) along with 20,000 others, and after each goal flares went off and you couldn't breath or see a bloody thing!!

Pain in the arse things.
