I see your irony! We are all so different, the variety of opinions expresed still keep it interesting, even if we don't agree with what is being said. I gather I have missed a thread aimed at me. Not to worry. I will never be everyones cup of tea. I'm just so appreciative the guys that put this site together have given us a common place to meet. I hate to say it but the official club site is as crap now as it was pre-season. This place rocks!

i think elirch jokes are always called for. the interview with him on the aleague home site is funny, talking about his soceroo chances without mentioning how sh*t hes been.
hopefully in the off season well have run out of stuff to talk about so the bollocks will be free flowing and everyone will be claiming to know someone who knows someone who can guarantee that leo bertos has signed. god knows what we are going to talk about if he signs a week after the season finishes

Hah! Was this some sort of IRONIC response to the OP??
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Every messageboard goes through spells, when nothing is happening at the club on or off the feild. No need to panic.

Well I only just decided to start posting in this forum recently (I can view but cant post from work) so maybe the downward trend is all my doing.

Maybe I am a Roar fan in disguise and have been charged on a secret mission to undermine a superior fansite...

While we're doing bizzare posts here's my contrib:

A woman walked into a bar and asked the barman for a double entendre so he gave her one.

Three for me, and two for them.

OK agree with you that a lot of the same old ground is being covered and that some spark has gone. But it's been a bloody hilarious forum on the whole and informative and passionate too which few would deny.

I think we may need a few fresh ideas especially as we're about to head into a long off season.

just off the top of my head how about:

1. A weekly guest column from one of the Phoenix players/staff - i.e the kitman about football or life in Wellington in general? something short and snappy and different to what we'd usually get to read in the papers about match reports etc.

It'd give us all something new to read and comment about.

2. We could do a similar thing for overseas New Zealand players where they put together a few words about life wherever. But we could have a poll on the forum asking members what questions we want to put to the player so we can delve deeper- you know - 'on the NZFootball site you say your favourite food is pizza, YF want to know would you prefer Hawiian or Pepperoni?'

I reckon that there must be people on the forum who know some players and can send off an email on our behalf to get players views, even if they're playing church/pub league here in the UK they'd be a lark.

3. We could get in contact with former players (some of you are probably on the forum) and ask them questions about life after pro football. Maybe some would even be interesting and interested in featuring on a podcast?

4. We shut down all threads that do not refer to effigy burning (because that was comedy gold).

There must be stacks of other better ideas out there that'll keep the YF forum the excitement machine that it's quickly proved to be.

I was thinking of do a fortnightly peice on what is happening with NZ players here in the UK - obviously Killie, Simon Elliott and Ryan Nelson as the main three players, but also on how other players further down the leagues (within reason - I'm not going to research how Mitch Cumstein is getting on at crouch end vampires - a real club, I'll have you know).

Otherwise i might go back to threads on effigies, seeing as  that seemed popular.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

OK thanks for the lead Frankie. As a lark to kick off a series I've just sent an email to the secretary of Crouch End Vampires asking about being put in touch with Kiwi footballers for an interview for the YF site.

So if they do have any kiwi who's willing to answer a few questions which can be knocked into some interesting sentences for our reading pleasure, what do we want to ask them?

FYI the Vampires website is www.crouchendvampires.org.uk

I'll get the first question into the pot:

1. If you were to burn an effigy, who would it be?
