Do the Nix Lack Composure

After watching some replays of earlier games this season following our win today, I've noticed that we have surrendered a lot of points with less then 5 mins to go.

Do the players lack composure, become complacent or is it just plain hard luck.  I think its happened too many times this season to just be plain hard luck.

Thoughts?

We won,  don't worry about it. It is just variance.

Enjoy the win ffs!

No I am, that's why I watched some of the replays and noticed the goals that we let in losing us either a win or a draw.

In football manager terms, it would be referred to as lack of concentration rather than composure. In real life it does seem to be an issue, but possibly not just for the Nix but for all teams; Heart, Newcastle and Adelaide all scored 'last minute goals' this round. No idea what a team could do about it.

Bring on Ridenton- had us scoring goals late, rather than conceding them against WSW and the Victory. But yep, do think this is an important thing- we need to be stronger in the last 20 minutes than our opposition if we want to be a good side.

I don't know what the hell Durante was doing letting Old Mate into the penalty box for that late goal…he should have tried to shut him down…instead he was hot shoe shuffling backwards.

I was more disappointed that Manny switched off for that crucial split second and allowed Mabil room for the easy tap in. However it shows the value of having a two goal cushion against a dangerous attacking side like Adelaide. How often in previous seasons have we risked heart failure watching the Nix desperately try to hang on to a one goal lead?

Match discussion in the match thread thanks. OP asked a question, don't just discuss how Adelaide scored.

We're playing a hard working pressing game.  Fatigue is probably a part of it.

I am also going for 'concentration' rather than composure. I think we just switched off in the 2nd half - not that I am happy we didn't create much in the 2nd half - but to be fair we were 2-0 up and Adelaide didn't threaten us until the 90+ minute which is when they scored

I think we have a tendency to switch off as do a lot of the teams... probably reflects the standard a little.

In front of goal is where we defo lack composure / concentration at the moment as we have squandered more than our fair share of chances.

Also, i think sometimes Ernies subs have not helped us in regards to keeping a clean sheet. Generally I'm all good with what he does, but a couple times he's keep on Hernandez when it has looked like he is dead on his feet making us less mobile and effective on defence.
