Have noticed there has been some really good coverage of the
Phoenix in the Dompost lately.
Well done to all concerned.
Pity we didn't have that sort of coveage in
Jaffaville when the Kingz/Knights were in town.
And that spread on the All Whites after their Wales
match was top stuff too.

I think having made such a positive contribution to
getting the team here the dompost is backing it all the
way. Good to see TV 3 also covering the training last night.
It's good to see football in the headlines for some positive
things as well. Let's hope we don't give them any excuses to
slip back into doom and gloom mode.

I wrote a letter to the DomPost editor (editor at dompost dot co dot
nz) thankign them for their increased coverage of football
recently. I think it's good to give the media who are doing
the right thing good feedback, beacsue that will only encourage
them to write more. Fred's doing a pretty good job over there at
the moment, and his writing is getting better all the time. I think
the sports editor is starting to give fred more space and freedomm,
which is a good thing.

There are two problems with both TVNZ and Granny coverage, and it is their sports editors. Mirams at TVNZ hates football, while the Granny just doesn't give a sh*t. Just look at the hacks working there, I have to read their half-hearted, lazy copy every day. With the internet you can read good sports reporting anywhere, and when you see the quality of the reporting on the Aussie, Brit and US sites, it just makes me mad.
No wonder Jaffas don't get excited about their sport when they are dished up the sporting equivalent of cold sick-flavoured porridge everymorning.

TV1 is utterly appalling. TV3 is hardly the BBC when it comes
to football coverage, but it is all over TV1! I now boycott
all of TV1 news in protest.
The theory re Mirams being a thugbyhead seems pretty
compelling.

I actually reckon the Herald has pretty good coverage. I'm
sure it's a battle for Terry Maddaford to get so much in to the
Granny, but i reckon he does a great job in covering what he does.
Fred is just flying down here i must say.
It's a real buzz seeing our sport getting so much good
coverage compared to 5 years ago. However, we've still
got more work to do and that's the aim of this site and this
supporters club - to get the good word out.
