That just reinforces my opinion - the drums are sh*t

Was it me - or did Daniel in his goal celebration direct it towards the drummers?  Jealousy perhaps?

i think some of you need to go to the toilet and wack one out, get all that tension out of your system

we all want to be apart of this great thing that is the phoenix
why not just give it a chance  maybe  look at it after 6 home games and decide not after one bloody game
so  just enjoy it for what it is, something that adds to the atmosphere

Bollocks to drums during the game.
They drown out the chanting from the Fever Zone - so people in other areas can't hear. I would rather hear chanting than some guy banging his drum.

Be prepared to get your drumsticks thrown away if this continues.

Get a grip. The last thing this new scene needs is that kinda negative aggro crap. Read the posts - there are a whole lot of opinions here. Not everyone agrees with you - get over it. Almost 15000 people came last Sunday - not everyone is in Yellow Fever - not everyone is doing it your way - inside or outside of Yellow Fever. Do you want to see this scene grow or not? You're not going to get 35000 people just like you coming here.

We were asked to get involved by the Phoenix Management because they think it will help make atmosphere and make it way different from anything before - apart from a few postings here most people seem to agree from what feedback I've heard all over town. That was also the feedback we got from the Phoenix Management as well. We can sort it so it works better for everyone - and we're happy to talk about that. If you have a problem with that, you can't accept a bit of diversity, and you think its undermining the team and its potential success then grow up and go talk to Phoenix Management about it - leave the aggro out.

Talk about a way to pop the balloon - geez.

It seems to me you've got heaps of energy for this scene and are putting lots in - great - but keep it positive eh!

I wouldn't call that aggro.  It's an opinion, for crying out loud!  "Geez"...

I vote for drumming at the opposite end to YF (picks up their drumsticks for them)

It's a shame we've no Northern Irish players -then we could have had flutes and Lambeg drums in the YF zone!!

No, no, no, no, no...

NO!

I only suggested a megaphone to get the chants started over the top of the (pick your own expletive) drums

wot about a wee experiment next time with the drums down the away end?!!!

Nice one.

Just for your info, one of the guys at the Phoenix shop told me feeback from Melbourne supporters he talked to was that the drums and chants were great, and from their end they were getting the drums from one side and the chants from the other. They thought it was great. As well as that one of the Phoenix Management walked up to me on the street as I was heading in to work this morning and said what a great job they all we'd done. He was in the Phoenix corporate box - wherever that is. I asked him how the drums and chanting went together, and if we were mashing up the chants and he said again no - it sounded great together - just what they had wanted. He also said the chanting came through really strongly. I thought that as well. It all comes down to different perceptions, opinions and tolerances I guess.

Sunday was pretty damn good. Giddyup's suggestion is pretty sensible really - lets just see how it pans out a bit and just enjoy it in the meantime.

Enjoy the game.

Come now Wolfben - I was only attempting to out-weird Frankie Mac (no mean feat). DIY Phoenixes? That's just wrong. The only flames I need are in my passionate heart for football...

...or something like that.

You'd have to admit....the drums are a lot more in tune than the chanting! :-)

I guess what I should have said was something more like:

"Hahaha - what a lateral and comical bit of creative imagination you came up with there eh Progeny".

or maybe

lol

Oh well...misunderstood yet again...

Just thought I'd say props to the drummers for changing their tact this week. Was cool to have them playing before the game and getting the crowd into it instead of random thumping during the game.

Yeah our drumming seemed to work better tonight than last time how was it in the fever Zone I wonder?

Noticed Adelaides drummer(s)on the replay right in the thick of their fanzone working with their chants.

Improving,,on the up, a work in progress from Italiano and the Nix. Bring on the bathroom bling in '24! COYN!

They were there the whole match, they just starting drumming at around the 70th minute coz YF was a lot quieter at that stage. Before the match they were on the field drumming and gettin the crowd involved in it..

Yeah the drums if possible were better tonight, although still a little aimless at times.

in my view/hearing it was better because you were further away,

however you the chants seem to change too quickly for you to support the chants (as you seem to wish to)

someone above said that you helped when it was quiet - maybe - but i reckon if you weren't drumming chants would have started up quicker - i can't prove that obviously

further away, drumming less often and  - in theory - supporting the chants  are all improvement s in my view

I presume you're being serious, if so piss off.

The FFA has mentioned fines and even deducting points for clubs which have trouble with Flares. No one except immature 16 year old kids want flares, so grow up. Flares create an atmosphere that a football game is a dangerous place to be, not the vibe you want to be creating when the club should be doing all that they can to attract families to the game.
