Can I just get the lowdown on the supporter base and how Bloc 5 interact with this?

What's the name of the phoenix ultra/hardcore/nice-to-c-u group this year?

Is Bloc 5 dead, I know Welli is a long way from Auckland.

Cheers.

Bloc 5 will always live on in the memory of its 7 members

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Dont bite of more than you can chew Yellow Fever. Just wait till you have a couple of losses on the trot and lets see if you get more than 7 to a game.

There were days when there were 7, there were days when there were 2-300, Feel free to lay in to the general Auckland public but those that stood by the Kingz and Knights through thick and thin for 7 seasons deserve respect, even if I say so myself.

Arse.  The people that deserve credit are those that were there week in and week out no matter how sh*t they were.  Comments about the Knights being sh*t and jealousy is a sign of someone who's likely to be quitting the moment the Phoenix take a first loss.

Some people would do well to remember that without the vision of the idea behind the Kingz and all that has gone before the chances are that there would be no Phoenix, and despite the disasters along the way we should thank Chris Turner and those that made this thing work for short periods in the last decade.

Am I right HN in saying that a lot of the Bloc are now at Auckland City in the NZFC?

Normo's coming home

The ringleaders are or were.  Of the Magnificent Seven, the ultra and his brother are there, Syd (Buffon) is there and a few others that came over in Knights times. A few follow Waitakere, some are neutral in the NZFC and go mad when it's NZ playing.  The real core (even those at City) were always Kingz/Knights first and NZFC second.

Some of those that have been at the core in Kingz days and at other times have drifted a little but returned at times like the last hurrah.

Others just ran when the TV and media profile died and results went wrong...

Yeh HN the Bloc were bloody awesome and an inspiration to those around them. My boys and I had a fantastic time being with the Bloc. It was well worth the long drive to Auckland to be in it. It pisses me off to see people, who obviously don't know what it was like, running it down and belittling the Bloc. I only hope YF get the same amount of passion in their numbers and have fans that will be still there in seven years time.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

I agree with you mate.  I went to as many Kingz games as I could and only missed the last couple of games the Knights played because of moving overseas (dam it that they won after I stopped attending).

Whilst I was never a Block 5 guy I always sat very close to them and joined in.  And yeah, CHRIS TURNER has done MORE FOR NZ FOOTBALL THEN ANYONE ELSE no matter what every says on this forum.  If it were not for him in the mid to late 90s we would not have Phoenix for 07.

We have more than 7 season ticket holders - so I'm hoping we can push past the 7 barrier even if the going gets tough

Jeez, my Knights season ticket is firmly stuck in my wallet next to my heart, my Kingz top keeps me warm at night and hey, one look in my bag next to me and there's my Knights cap.  Pouring rain, Jonas Salley's sickening injury, that crack could be heard all around the stadium, a season and a half before our first home win.  Testing times.  Strong faith.  It was worth it to see the quality and the good times:  http://www.youtube.com/edwardh2f2
Yep, I hope the Yellow Fever are not fair weather supporters.

The number plate surround on my car still says 'Kingz Fan Till I Die"  We did have some quality times  but its time to move forward now.

Lets hope the Phoenix can have more loyal fans than the Kingz and Knightz ever had.

and
also have a successful team to support
