Hoping that there is an organized venue to watch.

Thank god for this comment, as I have been trying to work out
all day what this thread was about - where Peter Dunne was going to
watch the game? watching the game in a toilet?
All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Champions sports bar on george st was always a decent place to go
towatch footie, but that has now closed and been replaced by Fever
(quite appropriate?), a disco bar, with a lit-up dance floor (circa
Saturday Night Fever).
Hehe, could still be a fun place to watch the game ;)

It will be a fun place to watch something don't know about football though!!
The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

Find out who sponsors the football clubs and go and hit them
up. I know Roslyn have been sponsored by the black dog (?)
and Raphaels.

The problem is finding a bar that has multiple sky decoders to show differant channels or a bar that is willing to forgo rugby on the big screan for Football.

Raphaels has closed, I believe.
Black Dog may be an option, but I've never watched anything there, only had a meal (it's quite a "posh" place).
Hard to think of other options. Standard student fare like Cook, Albies etc. Or maybe a nicer place closer to the octagon. But no obvious candidates that I can think of.
Haha, only time I've been to Fever, watched a game of rugby on the big screen while the ladies were dancing. Had a look at the dance floor and there was a 40 year old whale pole-dancing :)

hrmmm what about a place like the Duke of Wellington.... probably
don't have all the sky channels though. Expensive beer too. :-

Duke of Wellington is probably the best suggestion so far.. Thought
about Nellies in Mosgiel or Cock n Bull in Sth Dunedin
It would be great if there was some atmosphere when watching
the games.. Bit boring sitting at home watching..
Go the Cavvie in two weeks

Perhaps someone should ring a few bars and get one on board .
.. use the backbencher as an example to convince them!

Definitely the best suggestion. Beer's not cheap, but it's top quality brew and big glasses too ;) Nice wee place. Could be worth following up...
On this topic, how many Phoenix fans live in Dunners and would go to a good, supportive venue regularly if we had the numbers?
To be honest, I don't think I'd be there every week myself, probably every second or third.

Well, I'd be fairly keen.
I work near the Duke, so I might wander by and see if it's a possibility.
