Harsh yellowcard, coukdnt do much about it.

Fury game we will be ok with Siggy back, but Sydney game is gonna be hard. Musa is going to have to come in.

Also Browny must be 1 away from a suspension, and if he does get one in the next two games then he misses playoff games too.
Hope Lia is ok

You can appeal anything you want but it won't make any difference!!

the FFA barely let teams appeal red cards most of the time - no federation anywhere lets you appeal yellows tho

Have to say i'm kind of interested to see Musa in at CB. Would rather him along Dura than North but we've got no other options so eh..

On the plus side... it's a good time to be giving Musa a game and Jade North was immense tonight. I reckon Musa will go just fine, and if he doesn't it probably won't matter anyway.

Honestly think Musa could grow to be a very good CB backup - hopefully it starts on Wed

He was playing at left back, not centre back

Kinda like Winnie Reid debuting against Aston Villa at his non-preferred right back and getting murderedvaleo2011-02-05 23:13:28

I thought North was excellent tonight, Valeo.

I have to say I am more worried about his (Durante's) absence against NQ. That is the game we must win, and without him, if things start going a little awry, you get the feeling it could go horribly wrong.

I know, I know, its serious!

Not sure what you mean by this, but North played well tonight (And didnt score a goal).

So did I (except the fact he got pulled out of the line a couple of times in the first half when we almost conceeded through the middle). I'd just rather have Dura alongside Musa as he talks a lot more than North. North is a good '2nd' CB - I don't see him as a leadervaleo2011-02-05 23:15:42

Best central defensive performance of the year was Siggy and North at home versus Jets (4-0 game). Sure Jets were depleted in that game but NQF are permanently depleted. Reckon Siggy and North will be fine.

I think you'll find North was the captain and Durante the number 2 when they won the Grand final together.

Sure, but when you see them playing together it's clearly Dura directing traffic

Yeah but he's the captain

Anyway, I think North will step up to coach Musa for sure

But do we bring in someone to be defensive cover for the bench? especially if Vince Lia is injured, as he seems like he could cover it in an emergency.

And if North's 'clearance' didn't hit the bar and snuck in we'd be saying he had a poor game - game of inches, innit :P

I'd prefer Moosecat at centre back (is his suspension just one game?)

^ Feverish, 6.45am on a Sunday? Are you just getting home? I do think he has 2 weeks though so next week it's all there for Musa to step up.

Its no longer a problem.

Hmm very interesting. Dont think we have anyone capable of defensive duties left in the squad.

Maybe we sign a 2 week injury replacement for someone from the youth team

Surely with the amount of players on the sidelines (Bertos, Ifill) and probably for the season we can bring in cover?

Vicelich on loan anyone?

I reckon it was a tactical yellow. Misses the dead rubber Sydney game and NQF where we'll have Siggy back. Fresh and ready to go for the finals. Good call Dura.

Musa looks like he'd be really really good, when he's not really that good, so hopefully we can make everyone nervous.
He does really good long-ball throw ins though, and he just needs to work on getting up the field.

Off topic, but does anybody know id Dura is flying home today? If so what time will he be in Welly?

If I had to guess, considering Ricki's 'keep the squad together' policy (see Sigmund & Muscat travelling) together with the fact that Dura is club captain and they probably had already have all the bookings for hotels and stuff sorted I would say he is staying in Australia.

It'll definitely be Dura for one spot, but i've got no idea who would get the other spot between North and Siggy. Coin toss?

On reflection, and with the way results have gone, Dura's booking and suspension is not such a disaster.

There would have been every chance that he would have picked up that 8th booking in either of the next two games in which case he would have been missing 1, or even 2, play-off matches.

As it stands, we should have a full complement (all other things being equal) to choose from in the match that really matters.

I know, I know, its serious!
