Great to hear Tony Veitch jumping on the bandwagon and finally realising football is great.

Some interesting comments from rugby supporters who went to the game, one said 'it was in the top 3 sporting events he had ever been to'. The crowd has featured in most of the comments

Fantastic result.

I'm a rugby supporter, but it looks like i'm gonna be first and foremost a football man soon enough! That game was the most fun I've had in a long time, I can only think of three rugby matches I've seen that could POSSIBLY compare. Can't WAIT for the next match

The dwarf on speed was banging on about how all the crew at TVNZ were really getting into it - would love to see that reflected in their coverage of the Nix.

Looks like you'll be the first of many to see the light, Rob.  You can say with pride that you were a Nix fan right from the start. (you've got your fevercard to prove it )

I really do reckon we'll be telling our grandkids about yesterdays game ( a few decades from now!!!)

I know a lot of rugby fans who went to the game and came out converts. The atmosphere sh!ts all over rugby crowds who need musical interludes every 5 minutes to keep the crowd entertained.

Both the boys on the pitch and the crowd did a damn fine job of making sure that everyone in attendance will be back for more.

Season pass to prove it too  Though by the time I tell my grandkids, Indiana Jones will bust through the door and nick it off me, screaming that it belongs in a museum

Im also a rugby supporter (actually live and breathe it). I still think rugby is the best game in the world and will never be convinced otherwise. But yesterday was a fantastic occassion and I was glad to be part of it. I like going to watch live sporting event, nothing beats its. You, Yellow Fever, made the occassion special and your continual chants added flavour to the whole experience. Well done to everyone involved in yesterday game. I will definitely be back for more.

Was that Keith Quinn ambling through the back bencher before kick off?

Indeed, and post game.  We spoke to him on Friday night down there and told him to bring his singing voice on Sunday.

good on all the rugby fans who gave it an even break. Not like the barfly in auckland who lambasted me and my mate about soccer being a poofter's game while we watched it on the big screen (it made me think i'd gone back in time - I havent heard anyone use that phrase other than as a joke in god knows how long)

Keith Quinn is a scarf wearing Swansea City fan and has been for 25 years when he went to the Vetch after meeting John Toshack in a restaurant while filming a doco on George Nepia. Loved the atmosphere, and also has a soft spot for Swansea, for the standing ovation they gave Mr Nepia a few days before at St Helens, when he went on to the ground unannounced and was recognised by some old timers. He goes and sees them when he is in Britain and religiously follows them via the internet.

Its because its been a long time since they've felt threatened by soccer. Im expecting it a bit from the die hard rugby guys at school. The rest will jump on the band wagon

Sorry to burst the bubble on RadioSport,, They pissed me off on Sunday..

Driving to Dunners from Wanaka after taking the family skiing, really looking forward to listening to the game, tuned into 558 and 693am, no bloody fair, after the Warriors game they were taking feed from Aussie on a Broncos game. Spent the next half hour trying to find any coverage, gave up after pissing the family off.
Apart from Andrew Dewhurst they are Marty Devlins (rhyming slang for part-time supporters)
Veitchy and the rest always jump on the band wagon when doing well aka warriors.

Any way no more booking family holidays without consulting the draw..
Bring on the cheap airfares..

TV One filmed me at the Stadium for an Interview this morning - they were fantastic and have made a number of efforts to liase with us over the last few weeks. They get my thumbs up for pulling finger

It will be on the sports news tonight

Both of them interviewed me over the weekend for Yellow Fever - they have been nothing but supportive of what we're doing - I think we need to cut them some slack

Hmmm.. was that the same vetch of 25 years ago when my old man took me to my first game as an 8yr old and i was caged in with about 200 mad boyos who I thought was going to kick my head in when Hoddle scored a penalty?

And so begun a life's journey...although Swansea won 2-1 and thus my head was preserved

Does anyone here remember Keith Quinn commentating a Football match in 1981-2? It was a WC qualifier v a Middle Eastern team (Saudis?). He was in studio during game when suddenly the Audio feed dropped out he found himself having to give the call from NZ!
f**king hilarious!!

Shaky Isles? Is that a reference to our earthquakes or am I missing something?

You'll never see that on Breakfast. Paul Henry would never allow it.
