Doesn't seem like David Williams has signed another deal in India, I wonder if any AL teams are after an experienced forward.

If he was able to reproduce something of the form he showed for us 3 years ago he would be a handy pickup for an AL team. He was one of the most exciting players for the Nix back then. But 3 years is a long time in football, especially when you are into your mid-30s.

There were reports in India that he was very close to joining Des at Mumbai City. Seems like that didn't go through.

I'd take him as a replacement for Sotirio.  Probably no more then a super sub but that's what he's been for a lot of his career.

No room for him in the squad, unless he replaces our import 9 or much needed CB depth. I think we're pretty well stocked in the areas he'd play too.

If we didn't have Old or OVH, he would probably be a good addition for an impact role off the bench, but if he plays at the expense of those younger guys (Whose game time might already be fairly limited with the attacking players we have), then it wouldn't make much sense.

And he's gone to Perth! Can't really seem him playing too much with the players they've got upfront tbh

They lack experience in the squad, so he will be doing a lot of good work off the pitch for them.

Goal for Tomer Hemed this morning in the Europa Conference League playoff qualifying for Hapoel Be'er (Israel) vs Universitatea Craiova (Romania) in extra-time to tie the game on aggregate. Came on as 61" substitution.  Hapoel won on penalties 4-3, Tomer didn't get to take his kick though (5th one not required).

He's already started that work too.

Been told by a Turkish friend that Raphael Lea'i has completed his transfer to Alanyaspor. What a move

Alanyaspor, who finished 5th of 20 in last year's Super League (ahead of Besiktas and Galatasaray), are struggling this season. Lea'i likely won't play much if at all, but awesome opportunity to grab a bit of gametime and finally develop in a pro environment. Very good facilities apparently

He couldn't make his trial due to visa issues, hence is back in Australia preparing for the OFC U19 Championship, but seems Alanyaspor were willing to take the plunge anyway.

Going to be very interesting to see how Sotirio and Piscopo go this season at the Jets. All the Aussie pundits are talking up Piscopo like he's the second coming. For me both these players have there limitations which often outweighed there contributions for us. Be interesting to see how they go.

When have we got them first?  Could be a tasty occasion especially if at ROF

Without getting off-track from the thread, I think Jets have signed poorly - Penha is a big loss to them, they haven't reinforced their defence, the Nix boys they have signed I don't think any of them will hit it off.

Hooper Didnt feature.  Looks they gave Man U a decent run with a 2-3 losing result even at home.  They were the first to score as well.  Also they wear green and white hoops with white shorts.  Another Celtic link.

McGarry has given away a penalty and Sotirio just missed a couple of good opportunities in the Jets Victory game...

Still can't decide whether it was us or the Jets who were better off in the Piscopo, Sotirio, McGarry -> Jets deals. I guess time will tell. On one hand it takes time to bed into a new club, on the other hand, these were the types of mistakes these guys were making for us...

To clarify, I'm not questioning their quality - all three of these guys are quality players on their day. The question is whether the players we got to replace them are doing a better job for us than they could have done.

Nix should get a small portion of the $10k a day I believe, with most of it going to Hearts.

Nix favourite son, 34 yr old Jeffery Sarpong has plied his trade in the Lithiuanian national league in 2022.

Playing for 4th placed Panevezys who have one game left to finish their season.
He's scored 5 times, in 33 league games.

Panevezys could finish 2nd or 3rd with luck. UEFA Conference League Qualifier spots.

This is correct but the original post was in regard to the FIFA pay out for being selected for the World Cup. He was at the Nix 2 years ago, so we should get a share of that.
