Fever Bandanna Day

As you should all know by now, Saturday v Sydney is Fever Bandanna Day. We are looking to get as many of the Fever zone wearing Canteens Phoenixesque black, yellow and white bandannas. Two objectives 1.) support Canteen and 2.) make clowns of ourselves. We understand Canteen is also Serepisos charity of choice on Saturday so there will be 80-odd Canteeners at the game.

We will be selling the bandannas ($4 each) at the Backbencher pre-match. If you cant make the Bencher on Saturday you can pick one up from Hard News and I at the Dog & Bone (pub on Lambton Quay) tomorrow (ie Friday) lunchtime (12:30 1:30). It doesnt look like we will be able to sell them at the ground or on the concourse on game day. If you cant make either the BB on Saturday or D&B tomorrow lunchtime, PM me and Ill see what I can do (but no promises).

Well done everyone today for getting behind bandanna day.

Special honourable mention to the Sydney lads who put hand in pocket for a good cause despite the bandannas being in our colours.

I suspect they will become either trophies of a jammy draw, or toilet paper.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I'll throw in another honourable mention - the folks who paid with five dollar notes and said to not worry about the change. All the little bits help so I'm sure Canteen will appreciate the extra few bucks.

I, too, appreciated it - I wasn't given a float so giving change was often difficult!

Great work all around, Yellow Fever showed its class today.

Plenty of people threw in extra, including some of the Sydney boys who said that our currency wasn't worth much anyway so they could afford to chuck some more in.

Also one to throw in extra was Ickle Mikey Eager who we all know earns 37 cents an hour at Rebel (NOT sponsors of the Fever, go to CHAMPS) so that made his contribution all the more generous.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah, a really good effort. I think we sold about 300, pretty much all in one pub over about two hours. Not bad.

A BIG thanks to everyone who bought one.

I wandered up and down the concourse selling them before the match and at the half, but ran out pretty quickly.  PM Marius Jake, we still have some left.

Special thanks to RobbW, Smithy and News for their sales efforts yesterday. Well played fellas. News sales at half time were an outstanding bonus.

Marius, thanks heaps for selling them. My wife and my young nephew look cool wearing theirs, I gave one awya to a mate at the game and I don't look cool in mine. I feel guilty about the change but I needed a couple of sausages on bread mate, I hadn't eaten all day and was feeling weak!

Now I'm racked with guilt reading the above!

Don't be hung up on the one dollar you didn't give, focus on the four dollars you DID give. You still made a contribution and that's what counts, so good on ya!
