FFS its 400m.

The concourse at the RoF is nearly 600m.
The walk from the Backbencher is nearly 900m
The drive from my house to The Fox is 600km.

Get a f**king grip.

That's all very well for you  Hatter but you are a  professional  athlete remember !!

Done. Ian says it will be sorted.

Just heard from Ian the ciders are on ice, and Taiko is ready for the Yellow Fever. So now, if you are at Foxes, and the 3.50pm train from britomart sounds too early, rest assured that there is a bar open and waiting for the fever RIGHT ON the platform at the Kingsland railway station... so arriving at 4.07pm, that leaves time for at least a couple of refreshing beers, ciders or even sakes before you commence the short 5 minute walk to the stadium in time for the build up and kick off.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I was going to have a few pre-match drinks near to Eden Park but after all that's been written here I'll go to Foxes instead.
The Viaduct is bit yuppified for my tastes but I'll make an exception in this case.

Added trains running every 15 mins from 2.50 so timings are much better. Sorry Taiko but you may be getting a wee bit less business that initially expected.

Its no longer a problem.

Fox's is big TVs and big jugs all served on giant slabs of sticky wood. Viaduct yuppiness hasn't quite caught it yet...

Gutted that I'm going to miss the Phoenix in my hometown (overseas for work long term).

Fox's is great for football and sport in general. Was packed for 2010WC games, watched every AW's game live and I have to say the Slovak and Italy games were some of the best sporting memories and experiences I'll ever have, crazy awesome atmosphere (people jumping up and down on pool tables!). Fox's is defo the best pub to watch live sports.

So yeah, gutted, but will be streaming the game. Put on a show Auckland! COYN!!!
COYN!  Beijing, China.

I've still got my Yellow Fever card from season 1 (or was it 2?). Even got my name on it a faded picture of the Fever-mobile.

Will that do the trick?

I've yet to find a coffee in Auckland that could be described as more than "decent". And the lack of downtown cafe culture always leaves me homesick for Wellington. I've heard that it's better in suburbia, but I'm never out that way.

That being said, Auckland has Oporto. Wellington doesn't. 1-1.

Does K' Road count as "downtown"?

Personally I disagree with this sentiment. The man is opening early at the request of one of our members and getting in stuff for us. If he is going out of his way (I don't think he was opening early otherwise) then its only fair we duck in for at least 1 or 2 as was initially prescribed. It'll cost him wages to have staff start earlier and to not show up or show up closer to kick off when he could have chosen to stay closed makes us look like c**ts.

Sorry, no malice intended. I can just see people staying on at Fox Tavern a bit longer and having less time at Taiko which is a real shame as the guy is doing great work opening early and stocking up for YF. I'll def still pop in for a drink. Hopefully others will as well.

I will be going to Taiko before the game, because Ian is a good mate of mine and I want to ctach up with him anyway. After the game I figure I will be down to Foxes, and they're hardly gonna suffer... should be huge before and after the game at Foxes.

More trains is a good thing... makes it easier for people, and if you miss getting on one there will be another one shortly after. Takes the stress out of it, especially for the Bevan's who will stressed about when to leave Foxes otherwise, and be exhausted after such a long walk from Foxes to Britomart.

If and when you get to Kingsland station, pop in for a beer, cider or sake. While you wait for a train back to town after the game, Taiko is RIGHT there at the platform then too...

It'll be good times.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Taiko was very impressively hospitable. We were the only Nix fans in there till late in the piece. Friendly, free food... Great sake. I'll be going back there
We got abused by a whole group of people in the "fever zone" who didn't like us standing up and blocking their sedentary view, so eventually had to join the YF standing in the next section. During the argument, they agreed yes they were in the fever zone, but they didn't see any relevance with standing up!!
Oh well.
