Yo
Get along to Foxs on the viaduct. Take the train in/back

We will be distributing Fever Cards - and we will strike up some deals with Foxs that Aklders can use when watching games there in future
Here's a blub from them...
We're really looking forward to hosting the Yellow Fever next weekend! But is Auckland ready for you guys?! We're told you are keen as for a big night out so we are ready to turn it all on for you! Sat arvo before the game ...we'll have Macs Gold $5 Pints, free pool and some great food specials, hopefully Akl will turn on the sunshine cause we have a cracker night lined up. Sunday morning we'll open for League Final & Breaky with a great Yellow Fever Breaky Special, details to follow soon ...

Oh god this is getting even more dangerous...

My dad, a mate and myself have managed a 24 hour pass for drinking and footy. Unfortunately work the next morning is going to be interesting! Do they let wasted pricks onto planes in the morning? hahaha

Man, NHPeter and myself and the rest of the JAFAFever are going to show you crowd from the mother city how we kick it Viaduct-stylee.

Because Auckland has the more pretentious cafe culture out of the two cities.

Not to sure if I will be at the Fox at all :(

I got a mates birthday on after, and they aren't keen to go into the viaduct. Maybe I will come in by myself :(

I'm not too thrilled with this location.

What time train would we be recommended to catch?
What time would we leave the pub?

It's too far away from the ground.
How about somewhere in Kingsland instead, only a 5 min walk away.

It might be a while since I partied at the viaduct ( think Leftfield, ouch, not counting Katchafire and the wynyard quarter) but I recall this involving robust young ladies in white pants with g-strings chundering while being held by three of their equally drunk friends.

isn't this the same as fever style already??????????

be great to have the fever in Auckland and massive props to the Fox, hope we can own it. b good to see everyone up here.

Trains

or all options

public transport

or if you are feeling real lazy

300 3000 co-op - largest company
529 1000 discount taxis
or skinflint and lazy
8321111 cheap cabs (but small fleet so often a wait)

between $12-20 bucks for a cab depending. If you get 5 mates in a cab decent deal.

Have you ever tried to organise something of this nature? It's pretty difficult to do...

...and I think it must really suck when having tried to organise something with the pubs in Kingsland and Dominion Road - and having been told they were not interested, and then having gone and organised a great deal with a good pub that is interested, to have people come in and say "Not thrilled about this location... how about somewhere in Kingsland?"

So you want to know which train to catch?

here let me help you out.

So you want to know when to leave the pub in order to catch the 3.50pm train?

here let me help you out.

Click here. It's 450 metres, and should take you 6 minutes.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Thanks for the timetables.

I'm not trying to knock those who have made the effort to organise something, I just expected it to be closer (it's not like the viaduct is particularly close to Britomart station)

FFS its 400m.

The concourse at the RoF is nearly 600m.
The walk from the Backbencher is nearly 900m
The drive from my house to The Fox is 600km.

Get a f**king grip.

For the record, when we contacted the Kingsland Pub they basically said: "yeah we don't care if you come in or not really, we'll make heaps of money on the day anyway, so we definitely don't fancy offering you any cheap drinks or anything.  Maybe we could offer something for people who come in before midday."

When we contacted The Fox, the said: "awesome we really want to get you guys in, what can we do?"

So, The Fox won.

Bev, quit whining and get in there.  Or, go to the Kingsland by yourself.

Catching a train to football is always awesome anyway, especially after a few beers.

Plus, enjoy the nostalgia of riding Auckland's crap-ass diesel trains before the rail system gets dragged kicking and screaming into the 1960s with electrification in a couple of years.

well defiantly makes sense to go to a pub that actually showed interest in the Yellow Fever and wants us to be there.

I for one am very grateful for the effort you guys have put in. Cant wait.

Very excited about this weekend. Taking my (almost) 4 year old, the old man and a friend form way back in the day. Definitely going to get to the the Fox before hand too. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Its no longer a problem.

Does anyone know if there will be another train running from the Viaduct to Kingsland and around 4.30? Currently there is a 3.50 then a 4.50 which take 17 mins to get there. Result is either getting there really early or late. Could always bus or taxi I suppose but trains are actually fun for these occasions.

Its no longer a problem.

Don't think there will be an extra train.

So it looks to me like the 3.50 train. My mate Ian runs Taiko, the Japanese Restaurant right on the Kingsland Train Station platform (which has good beer). (Kingsland side not Sandringham Road side). I have just left him a voice mail message to find out whether the bar at Taiko will be open at 4.08pm. Seems like a handy way to fill in a bit of time between then and the 5pm kick off...

Just got a message back from Ian.

Taiko will open at 4pm to accomodate any train travelling Phoenicians.

I love this.

We're like football NINJAS!

By the way - for the person who asked, yes we are planning to head back to The Fox after the game.  Fox are putting on some additional specials for us after match.

Which I am stoked about because with my flight landing at 2.30pm I might struggle to make it to Foxes before hand... out of the airport by 2.45pm, good traffic would mean at the viaduct (hopefully) by 3.15pm, find a park, get to the bar 3.25pm... get a beer, drink it, leave in time to get to Britomart (since it's SOOOOOOOO far away, eh Bevan?) for the 3.50pm train....

Hmmmmm.

So if flight is dealyed, or traffic is bad or anything I might have to end up meeting the train at the platfrom in Kingsland and have a beer at Taiko with Ian and any travelling phoenicans who show up...

THEN, off to Foxes after the game, BOO-YAH!
