Are all those stands going to be manned by security? If not then I don't see any reason why anyone without a Rodney Green Stand ticket can't just rock up there.
Or is the Fever Zone going to be the only area thats policed much like the RoF?
Fever Napier Trip - Last few places available
I can see you (Smithy) being banned from the game by speaking the truth. (Big Brother watching) Rather than sorting the problem out, they'll remove the source of the complaint.
Good on you for making noise about this though. Sticking up for the fans is very much appreciated. Local or otherwise. If you see me at the game, remind me - you deserve a DB! (I'm umming and Ahhhhring about bringing some Woodstocks on the bus trip - Is that allowed?
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
I have just sent a couple of emails featuring the words "clusterfuck" and "total ballache" so will see what eventuates.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Maybe that's something that comes out of the wash in the debrief in whatever department. That when we take games out of town, the host venue has to cater for a 'Fever Zone' that is user choice entry (or something to that affect)
I guess in cases where there are one off games, things like this will unfortunately happen through no ones fault other than being a new experience.
Yeah you're on the money.
Same teething problems in Auckland first time out - Fever Zone in the middle of regular people.
To be honest, while I agree with all of that, it is actually, ultimately, the Phoenix's fault. The buck stops with them.
They have complete control of whether they do or do not agree to any terms that the ground(s) they take games to offer them. They have the power to say "We would like to come to your ground, but unless you can meet certain criteria, we will not agree to it..."
One such criteria could be that they require a Fever Zone to be established, and some rules they require to apply to that zone.
For anyone to say "No, the phoenix can't do that... they just have to take what the grounds offer" is bollocks.
If a ground had dead bodies hanging from the ceiling of the grandstands, or swastikas painted on the toilet walls, or any number of other things, the Phoenix would say "Sorry, that is unacceptable."
They also are required by the A League to comply with sertain conditions/requirements under their contracts/agreements to participate in the A League.
So, there's no reason why they cannot stipulate other conditions before they agree to take a game to a ground.
Not sorting this out in advance is a lack of foresight, planning and attention to detail by the Phoenix in my opinion.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.
That is a bit doom and gloom for my tastes, but each to their own.

I hope the Sun is out. Can we have ice cream?
Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Yellow Fever Flash Mob (for want of a better name) in different parts of the ground for both halves?
(I generally hate the flash mob concept as I think it is for twunts with very little imagination an way too much time on their hands but I am trying to offer up a solution to a problem!)

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!
Don't hate me if this changes but probably a 9:30am leave from Wellington Railway Station. And I think we will go via Palmy.

9:30 - cool. (Catches 8am train from Upper Hutt), Palmy piss stop? Hate? Never, this is Nix on the road and I for one am really looking forward to this trip. I'd rather have gone to napier than to Auckland (Sorry Auckland based fans) over the last few years.

Hi Feverites!
For those of you who are planning to be in The Art Deco Capital of New Zealand on the night before the mighty Phoenix come to town (Saturday 26th October) then listen up.
I am arranging an informal gathering of Feverites for a curry at Indigo Restaurant in Napier. The plan is to have a banquet meal in our own private room (ooh err) where we can talk bollocks and football and socialise the night before the match when we are all a little less "excited" by the occassion.
It will cost $35 a head which includes courses with a variety of delicious curries to chose from, even prepared to arrange for the chefs to slaughter a few vegetables for the vegetarians!
If you're keen then please email napiercurry@gmail.com with your name and how many people. We need around 20 people for the banquet style to happen and we can accommodate up to 50 people. Drink specials will also be arranged if we can get enough numbers. Will need to have a solid idea of numbers by Thursday so please don't delay!
Finally, for the Scottish amongst us, this place has one of the best Whisky selections I have ever parked my peepers on and I am sure Smithy will concur our host will be very happy for you to challenge him to produce a bottle from an obscure distillery!
Coops!

+1 for immense scotch selection. Amazeballs.

Rather than flares on Sunday, maybe we should discharge Air Freshener!

@C-Diddy - just for the special types like me - just email them, front up with $35 and all is good? I'll want a decent feed after match day 1 of the tournament. Single malts would not hurt either.

Any recommendations for hotels near the ground? Going to book one now and book tickets. Driving down from Hamilton so will really want to stay the night.

End of an era. Vinnie - It's over.
If anyone cares for my inane babbling follow @iluvnix17 on the Twitter.
I can confirm that ticketing for Napier is a total fuckup.
If you are a season pass holder, you WILL BE seated in the Fever Zone whether you like it or not.
If you are NOT a season pass holder, you CANNOT sit in the Fever Zone at all.
This frustrates the bejeezus out of me because we raised this issue with Napier folk directly when we went up there to suss things out, and they assured us they'd find a solution.
Am hoping that they will make good by providing for a ticket-swap in the ground like we have at the Stadium where you can swap your regular seat for a Zone ticket if you want to, but I am not hopeful.
That sucks massive balls.
My girlfriend (not a season ticket holder) is coming along and I assumed that she would be able to get a ticket in the Zone. Hopefully they do something to sort the mess out. I am sure there are probably season ticket holders not wanting to sit in the zone and there will be plenty of locals wanting to give the zone a whirl.
I'm in the exact same situation - did you get it sorted out?

Accommodation near the ground... as people say lots of beds already booked for under 19s. I would try a couple of these that might be out of their price range and maybe free. Scenic circle te pania hotel (marine parade) the quest napier (dickens street - owner ruben is a good football man) county hotel, (browning street) and the viceroy (tennyson street). Or try Jasons

Cheers for the help. Managed to get a room for me and my partner at the country hotel. Now to get tickets.

That's what I thought. Any hotel with the word 'country' in the name has a classy ring to it.
I looked at Kennedy Park a few months ago. Man they're expensive!!
