Apparently to name a dog, it has to be purchased as a pup so that slightly rules out that idea (unless you want to make payments for a couple of years before it even races).

Should have got Greenie one for his birthday.

In fact, best name ever: Fever Founder.

Is there any update on this at all yet Smithy?

I'd love to help out but family commitments etc make me wary of jumping in with an offer if I may not be able to follow through. Will you be communicating any kind of plan of attack that would give us a chance to have a think and see where we may be able to help out?

Hey paulm.

Update is this: I got three solid offers of help and have so far only had time to follow up on one of them.

I'm reluctant to post our entire plan of attack on everything because:

1. I don't really have time.

2. Things are in various states of flux.

3. Surprises are nice.

4. The quality of feedback this forum chucks up is, ummm, variable.

So, for now I'm just pursuing the concrete help offers I have, and am keen to add to that pool.

Remember that we're not looking for a full time commitment, we're looking for people who can make a consistent contribution of some time.

Here are a couple of jobs I'd love to fill right now:

  • I would love to have someone with wordsmithing skills take over the Pandemic newsletter, which I'd like to start sending again fortnightly. It's compiled and sent in MailChimp, so familiarity with that, the internet in general, and an eye for grammar and style are key.
  • I'm looking for someone to do the administration of our away trips to Napier, Chch and Auckland.

In so far as computer Literacy would go, would get a pass mark in the likes of Xcel and Word but much beyond that ...Yeah Nahhh.

Would be happy to help out with away trip stuff though Smithy if that is of any use.

Cheers

  • In that order? I'm in Akl for work on the 8th Nov so was hoping that would be the Akl game and I could just stay an extra day. Stink.

I've used a few different content editors (mainly LMS/CMS but same thing) so as long as it's WYSIWYG and no coding is required I'm happy to give it a crack.

No immediate plans to add the blog to this site, but you should do it indie style and plug it on here?
