Anyone know if its possible to get in for only the second game? Work wont give me a full day off but id still be able to make it for the second game?
I would imagine you have to buy the ticket that covers both games but can come in at any time.

All sorted now. ....can make itto both :)
Awesome. I hope you enjoy it too.
Fortean - yes I didn't sign my Sky contract expecting this game, but nothing new would ever be on Sky if that was the case? When I signed up they still had EPL...hardly asking much that these games would be available since they reduced their live football coverage by 70+ matches a season!
As for boxing I tend to agree. The pricing is all over the place IMO. $40 for Joseph Parker, but free for the recent world title fight between Froch v Groves that sold out Wembley stadium?! I would've paid maybe $25 for the Froch fight, but no way I'm paying $40 to watch Parker. Maybe if he gets to world title level I would.
My point about precedent is this is the first time football has been PPV and it's a slippery slope, potentially.
since we're dealing in a hypothetical snowball argument here.
It could also lead to more things being PPV, and not hidden behind an additional sky paywall (like it is now, which does suck). This would mean you only pay for the content that you actually want to watch.
I guess as Internet gets faster and faster this is more likely, and depending on pricing, I wouldn't have an issue with it.
Can you dump Sky but still use their ppv?
Wouldn't have thought so.
Sky Arena is not even available on Vodafone TV for some inexplicable reason.
yeah I sent them a message asking if they were considering opening up their PPV to non subscribers at least online via skygo in future, they never got back to me.
Sky have such a caring way of which they handle their customers. Almost like they are wanting people to abandon their service. You have to wonder sometimes what their objective is. It doesn't appear to be keeping the customer satisfied.
Why would they need to? Where would you go?
I'm happy to pay for the Westham vs Nix game as we can't afford to go to Auckland
Why would they need to? Where would you go?
The internet.
Anyone aware of any promotional events planned in welly ahead of the double header?? Heard of a long lunch happening. Any idea of any public training sessions or autograph and photo sessions planned???
if the past is anything to go by there will be a weeks worth of activities and player promotions in Auckland, and not a lot in Wellington. #cynical
Newcastle squad named for NZ tour:
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/foot...
UNITED squad named for New Zealand:
Jak Alnwick, Sammy Ameobi, Vurnon Anita, Adam Armstrong, Hatem Ben Arfa, Gael Bigirimana, Adam Campbell, Jack Colback, Fabricio Coloccini, Mathieu Debuchy, Paul Dummett, Robert Elliot, Shane Ferguson, Yoan Gouffran, Jonas Gutierrez, Massadio Haidara, Tim Krul, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan, Ayoze Perez, Davide Santon, James Tavernier, Steven Taylor, Cheik Tiote, Michael Williamson, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa
Seem strong enough to those who follow Newcastle? I don't but recognize a handful of the names.
At least the world has heard of Tim Krul now. Maybe they should have the games go to a penalty shootout if there's no winner.
Rare video of Newcastle's last tour to NZ in May 1985 where they played the All Whites in four friendlies to help them prepare for World Cup qualifiers.
Kevin Keegan had toured NZ playing for regional selections against the All Whites the previous month on his retirement tour.
A very busy year for the All Whites with World Cup qualifiers too.
The second game, a 2-2 draw in Wellington on May 19 at the Basin Reserve:

Im pretty sure that there is some mandatory fifa stand down of 3 or 4 weeks from exiting the world cup to reporting to club duty. If this is the case , that would rule out Krul and Debuchy (who is rumored to be unveiled as an Arsenal player in the next 24 hours anyway). Siem de Jong who has been the Ajax skipper and has 10 odd caps for Holland has signed for Newcastle in the last week so should be in the squad though.
Blimey, pretty stink crowds.

Any relation to Nigel? Interesting with HBA in the squad if so!
No relation to Nigel, but his brother is Luuk who had an unsuccessful loan period at Newcastle last season. Hoping like hell that HBA doesnt get sold in the next few weeks as looking forward to seeing him in action against the Nix..
The Football United Tour, now sponsored by Carlsberg. Does that mean we are going to be drinking Carlsberg all afternoon at the Westpac.......anything has to be better than Tui!!!

Back away from this, do not continue this line of questioning, you know not what you do....

Should bring out the banstick for anyone who mentions those two words in the same sentence.
Of all the subjects to bring up in a first post...
Pretty sure hunty is a typo...

Poor guy.
@hunty - this wasn't directed at you, Carlsberg was the subject of a debate between two forum members that really derailed the sponsorship thread and pissed some of us off.
Please don't read: http://www.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/wellington-phoenix-discussion/topics/phoenix-sponsorship/page/7 to get context.
Interesting newcastle squad.
All of their first choice players there, some real quality.
Debuchy an interesting selection, all signs point to him being unveiled at Arsenal tonight...
Lots of fringe french squad members there who didn't get to the world cup chiefly because Newcastle sucked last season.

Newcastle, the new French Riviera?
I'm pretty sure last year, if you include the likes of Tiote from Ivory coast, Cisse from Senegal, Abeid from Algeria they had 12 odd French speaking players. VIVA LE NEWCASTLE...
