Would be happy to billet as many of the team as possible. As much lasagne as they can eat - all day, every day.
Football United - July 2014 West Ham and Newcastle visit
hahahahahaha
that is very good
I'd keep them up all night repeatedly asking what they think happens to us when we die
If you have been bad you go to the old Karori Park #3 in the sky where it is an endless howling southerly and there are no subs. The ref is a mate of the other team's captain and has a bad limp. You are in Seatoun colours and the opposition is Lower Hutt.
Also your team has forgotten the half time oranges while Lower Hutt has tim tams.
I think you fellas are getting confused... This from David Dome:
Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome would love to bring an ASB Premiership club to Wellington next pre-season but says contrary to reports no fixtures have been confirmed.
Dome, who is currently in Australia, said tonight that the club was always on the lookout for quality local opposition.
“I wouldn’t be doing my job if I wasn’t exploring the possibility of bringing quality teams to Wellington,” Dome said.
“In the past we have played and lost to Auckland City, and we have noted the success Australia had a couple of years ago in getting a game against City with CCM getting smashed 3-1.
“Over the past 18 months we have had some options presented to us and there have been on-going discussions with various parties, but it is a big step from discussions to confirmation.
“If a suitable opportunity presents itself, and it works financially as well as from a team perspective we will consider it.”
Poor troll is poor
They just want to sit at the big boys table....
They just want to sit at the big boys table....
Its been reported that Man City will play the Heart & Roar in pre-season.
So if the EPL winners come over and you beat them then since we beat you that makes us:
Champions of England
Champions of Africa
Champions of Australia - beating CCM who went on to win A-League
Champions of Scotland - CCM beat Celtic, we beat CCM
Champions of Europe - Celtic beat Barcelona, CCM beat Celtic, we beat CCM
5th best team in the world...
...Now we just need to win the pesky ASB Premiership.
One line is missing
"Not even Champions of NZ"

i love it - my favourite Ali post!
TWO Epl teams coming here! So a 4-team knockout tournament the way to go, whaddya reckon Ali?
Whispers of two EPL sides visiting these shores are turning into something more audible:

SOCCER: PHOENIX MAY PLAY AGAINST ENGLISH CLUB
5:30 AM Sunday Feb 9, 2014
Up to two English Premier League teams could be coming to these shores in July for matches against the Wellington Phoenix.
One - and possibly two - Premier League teams are being invited to play games versus the Phoenix, with the possibility of a blockbuster match at Eden Park on the cards.
The Herald on Sunday understands that one Premier League team, which has not been identified, has already been confirmed for games against an Australian A-League team (believed to be the Brisbane Roar) and the Wellington side before the next A-League season.
If a second club from England can be signed, there is an exciting prospect of both Premier League teams playing matches in New Zealand within the space of a week, though the identity of the confirmed - and prospective - Premier League clubs are unknown....

So long as Ali and his mates are happy to stump up that little $1m a game for the EPL sides. Sounds good. Go for it Ali :)
Where is dean lonergan
So games for Auckland and Christchurch is a fair assumption, yeah?
I don't really understand the fascination and attraction of seeing EPL teams in festival/gala/promotion games, beyond revenue generation. This is probably a result of growing up in England, being cursed or blessed, depending on your point of view, to be born into a Toon family. Of course, I appreciate that it's a chance for people to see an EPL team in Aus/NZ, but it's still a friendly game, an event for the fans, rather than a meaningful match. The Liverpool game in Melbourne had an amazing crowd and an surprising amount of people travelling from NZ. I don't think any other club, playing in Aus/NZ would get that level of support or atmosphere. The Man Utd game in Sydney was subdued in comparison. The best 'big' games in NZ, for me, have been the meaningful matches, The Adelaide game before the Galaxy game, the All Whites World Cup qualifiers and the Phoenix in the playoffs.
Let's hope we can get a home play-off this season and a run to the Final

anyone else you've already been told it won't be?
If my memory serves me correctly (which I wish it didn't after Sunday) then I believe that Arsenal was the only team that Domey ruled out.
Not top ten (spelling test) Alpabetically #Steineken bets

I agree. I'd rather go the a standard ASB Prem game as it means something.
Its still a meaningful game for me if its the Nix playing. Theyre my team. The Boca Juniors match lives on as one of my all time favourite Nix games.
The A-League 'All Stars' however, couldnt care less.

Would lol if it was the Toon!
They've been out here before.

Fair enough. I suppose it would be interesting to a Phoenix fan. (which, in case you didn't know, I'm not)
