Its part of the laws as set out by FIFA.

even FROM a money perspective I would have thought that since visuals are a key aspect of brand equity, the more they play in black and white the stronger the brand recognition . . . the more shirts are sold . . . the more money brought in . . . blah blah

Also, there's FA and League Cup games and friendlies. They don't only play EPL games.

Well, for those on here that moaned from start to finish re the ticketing, it's not likely going to be something that'll cause you angst over again in a hurry.

FFA are lobbing a handsome $250,000 access fee on to future ventures like these.

Newcastle have now arrived in Wellington. My Mum was visiting here the last couple of days and she was at the airport waiting for her flight back home about an hour and half ago and saw them arrive. Noone seemed to notice who they were.

Heh. She said she saw loads of people go past with Wonga on their top but didn't recognise any of them and didn't notice Pardew (the only one she would have recognised), and there didn't seem to be anyone waiting to greet them or ask for autographs etc.

I was rather underwhelmed with the whole thing last night. Lets move on just say Im expecting better from tonight and much better from Saturday.

Well it's a bigger deal for Nix and they are more prepared than Sydney who have only had one other hitout. Nix want to get fans from this, so need to perform well.

West Brom play in dark blue and white stripes, Spurs and Swansea play in white. Potental problems when playing those three, at least

Stuff article said there was only 1 supporter waiting from them, who had flown over from Perth.

Potental problems when playing those three, at least[/quote] then wear the alternative kit when there is a clash!!!! not just because you are away from home. i dont see Nike or Apple or Facebook or anyone else for that matter changing the logo when 'products' are sold overseas my point simply is just perhaps that wearing the black and white on every possible occasion stengthens and builds brand equity which potentially bring in a heck of a lot more $$$ than selling a few thousand replica away kits that (a) is bland in the extreme, and (b) no-one recognises!!! . . . but maybe I'm wrong. Who knows, who cares . . . I'm not a Newcastle fan, but given the novelty of their visit, it would have been nice to see them in their traditional kit. Rant over.

Really, they should have had 2 double headers - Wgtn and Auckland.  I think you'd have gotten well over 25k in Akld and obviously good crowds in Wgtn too.  Then you can also justify the higher prices.

In order to fit 2 games in for each side, one had to be midweek. Would a Tuesday & Wednesday night double header have worked at Eden Park? I think Welnix knew Dunners was always going to be an issue for crowds but they got the stadium hire cheap and given the likelihood for bad weather, it has the roof.

KO at 5 and 8?  I think it would have worked even if a lot of people may have only gone down for the second half of the first game - one dayers work during the week exactly like that.
