Fortress Ring of Fire (Caketin)

Is this the turning point where we make the Ring of Fire the fortress it once was?

On November the 3rd, 2010, Brisbane Roar beat us 4-1 to end our 24 unbeaten streak at home.

Since then it's been an up and down place, with teams not fearing it like they should.

Keep building and they (crowds) shall come.

Also, what were the views on the music post game yesterday? There is a bit of banter going around with the stadium on twitter to have Ring of Fire as the Victory song following the final whistle.

Here is a recording of what it was like yesterday.

Not really a fan of the music. Fans wanted to cheer the team off the field, but drowned about by the music.

Message to The Wellington Phoenix:

Turn the fucken music off and leave it off. This includes before, during and after the game. Save your money and leave it turned off!

don't mind it pre game, but ring of fire really did kill the buzz a bit after the game.

Ring of Fire before the game would have been infinitely better.

I enjoyed hearing it after the game but I'm someone who feels it should be used as an anthem at the games, so would like to hear it before the game and as a victory song.

It is the type of song that the crowd can get involved and sing along with.

Not if its drowning out the crowd.

Kill all the music at the games, let the crowd atmosphere dominate, not zmfms wanna play list.

Maybe music at the end of the first half when the players are walking off the pitch.

If winning: Ring of Fire (Cash)

If level: I want to break free (Queen)

If losing: Don't give up (Gabriel & Bush)

"Phoenix till they lose"

yep, great song but only belongs (if at all) before the game and about 15 mins before so it doesn't hinder the crowd creating is own real atmosphere

I am. I also like to hear the atmosphere build as crowd numbers increase at the game. I also like to talk to the person beside me without having to raise my voice to be heard. Being at the stadium so often, you'd know these things.

So music at matches kills atmosphere you say? Care to explain this:

Three for me, and two for them.

Ring of fire is totally the kind of thing you want to hear as your walking into the stadium, finding your seats and watching the team warm up/getting your first overpriced beer. Its a crowd warm up song. As it was a few seasons ago. Of course you Fever boys will probably arrive just after its finished from the BB but you're all warmed up any way.

Absolutely - walk on music should be traditional, helps to build a feeling about playing at home
