Thanks Ballane

I know as you said the Q and A will be online.

Will this be a delayed video and link?

Or solely live?

If you could let us know which one and the date/time, we can potentially start booking our annual leave or making fictious meetings in our work calendar!!
From what i understand it will be live and yes as soon as im given details i will post them. Will check but would imagine they may also post it on their Youtube channel again will post details when im told them.

Okay this is what i have done. Have a read let me know if you want any changes. I dont think we should add anymore questions as there will be others on the nite of the Q&A. Will leave it for a couple of days and will send to the club we then have to wait for the Q&A to get the answers.

1/  Have they done any soul searching about why the club have failed to win a finals game since Ricki left?

2/ Who is on the football committee, are decisions reached by consensus or does the committee just offer suggestions and Welnix (Rob) make the final decision.

3/ Some would welcome some insight into the roles of the DOF and the Football Committee compared to the roles of the two Head Coaches ,especially when results arnt meeting club expectations.

4/ Could all the Phoenix Business units be named ie Charter School, Academy etc etc. Who is the person at the top of each unit and who do they report to.
Which of these are profitable (amounts not required) just wondering if they earn more than is spent.

5/ With Chief trying an incredibly risky high line approach then discarding it. Were people like Domey and Gilly at all skeptical or uncomfortable with this approach. Should there have been more oversigh tand should it be part of the DOF role in future to prevent such things happening.

6/ Why is the club lacking in engagement with fans. Seems they do the bare minimum. There are no fun videos or clever promotions. understand its easier to promote a winning team but how do you expect people to care about the team or players if we dont know anything about them. Even match day there is sometimes one post then nothing till an hour before the game.
It used to be asked where you were watching from with times in relevant zones.

8/ Is the club happy with the current level of partnerships/sponsors that are on board with the Phoenix.
Is there some scope to build on what we have, not just with potential local/national partners, but perhaps looking to a more international market as well? This is not limited to specifically to just businesses either but could include something like club partnerships.

9/ Are the club disappointed there are no standout young players in the first team? That after selling 3 players for healthy transfer fees in 2024,the club will likely go 2 years with no transfer fee income at all.
Are the club monitoring the success of the Jets this season and seeing if there are any learnings for the Phoenix especially around the development of younger players.

10/ Can we hear anything about the Fraser Park rumor's about a botique stadium being built there.

11/ What happened with the last winter review. what was stablished at the review why has the implementation of said review failed (assuming it has)
Do the club accept they rested on the laurels with the arrival of AFC.

12/ Is Greenie the short term fix till the end of the season or the cheapest fis and hope for the best next season. Any thoughts on the Heidleberg coach.
There is the perception that the club is just  happy to aim for the 6 rather bthan state that we want to finish 1st is that likely to change.
Are we going to see more of the young players like LBS or are they going to continue being protected without us getting any playing benefit or an increase in their transfer value.

Ballane thanks for this. I may be too late in the piece but a burning question for me is to understand what experience outside on the Nix do any of the football committee have playing or coaching in a professional football environment?

I understand where you are coming from ImaNix.

Here’s why I was less cranky:
24/25.  Shots per game = 7
25/26.   Shots per game = 12

Our problems has been the following:
Goals per game = 1.56
Conceded per game= 2.11

Our defense was either unable to cope with it against hot shots Randall and the Jets. And then it was unfamiliar with its assignment or its members. No LB didn’t help.

This meant there was a higher chance of mistakes as defense personnel were in and out and instructions changed to fit that and other reasons.

But the attack side of things was exciting and fun, and contrary to Chief’s instincts!

For example here’s his good season :
For per game:    1.48
Conceded per game:    0.97
Shots per game: 9

Control and discipline is his preference.

Okay this is the email i have just sent to the club. We can but wait and hope there is a response in the not too distant future.

Hi hope last nite went off well. Here are the questions that were posted on the YF forums hopefully the Q&A that will include these is sooner  rather than later. If for any reason it is delayed is there any way these questions could be answered and forwarded to me so i can post on the forums. There is much angst among the fan group at the moment and delay in answering these may only exasperate the situation.
We realize there may be some things that it may be preferred not to comment on while that will be disappointing it is understandable. Rather than ignoring a question  a simple no comment will suffice.
Again i implore please dont let a response to these questions be dragged out.

Ummm, you wrote the email.

I actually thought your email was dam good, very direct and ignoring it for a month would be bloody disrespectful. Have inserted below a section of it for context.

Why do you automatically assume its a holiday and not work related?

Seems like a case of Dome Derangement Syndrome to me.

Busy you think recruiting for the charter school?

Well if he’s working I’m assuming he can answer his emails?

Like most people do when they are on business?

There's answering emails, and there's replying to multi-stage fan questions that require consultation with other departments. That's just one possible explanation, but you have to assume worst case scenario every single time, regardless of accuracy or whether it even makes sense.

The world would be a better place if you just admitted your bias, realised you aren't capable of making a sensible comment about the bloke and just talked about other things.

Its tiresome and makes me wish we had a block function because as far as i can tell you dont contribute anything of note to this forum.

Ballane's email was drafted up from memory pre Chiefy stepping down. Much of that urgent angst ain't there anymore. As long as yes the club/Dome do get around to responding at some point, that's fine.

In many ways it would make more sense responding to all these questions at season's end, as by then the direction of the club could be alot clearer for fans to see. That's now after the head coaching change.

It's the pointy end of the season, for both the mens and womens teams, and the ALW side could well be hosting a finals game. Combine that with Italiano leaving, and lots of players coming off contract, plus the big decision on whether Greeny is given the job full time - and Dome and Gill have plenty on their plate at the moment. There are also rumours of the Fraser Park development and a possible 2nd crack at entering the OFC Pro League for 2027. I seriously doubt Domey has had a holiday recently.

Oh and for a informative balanced read on why the Charter School may actually be a good thing for young professional sport people, AP should read this article. Though I doubt he will.

Really not sure what is so hard to understand. The YF forum was down for sometime so there was no point at all in me making an attempt to try and push for the answering of the questions.
While the forums have come vack they were stiil a bit clunky while bugs were ironed out.
The club  as  has been pointed have had some things to work on and sort out.
I fully expect the questions to be answered but unlike yoU AP im prepared to cut the club some slack

Even if he had responded Ballane couldnt have posted The responses. The removal of Italiano was response enough for many of the questions. The rest can be dealt with at season's end, because no doubt there will be additional questions about which players they keep and who they hire as the manager going forward.

Maybe Gill is right - some have short memories.

This email was sent after Chief had resigned/been removed.

Nothing has been resolved apart from Dome kicking it down the road.

But you are, really not sure what you dont understand at NO stage did they say or i ask for a time frame for the questions to be answered.
The forum went down came back breifly then went down again and when it did come back it was very much awork in progress . Thats on top of some developments at the club yet you seem to think they should drop everything and answer some questions.
Im happy with where things are and i will be asking this week just where are with getting answers.
The email didnt go directly to him. Yet again showing your true colors. Really wondering if its even worthwhile following up as its pretty obvious what ever answers are given you wont be staisfied.

No, you shouldn’t have to follow up Ballane and the forum going down is irrelevant to someone answering an email.

One of the questions related to fan engagement. Fans shouldn’t have to follow up.

The email spoke for itself. If you “implore” someone to please not drag out a response and they don’t respond within a month then that’s on them.

Like I said a month ago after you sent the email “Nice one”

Have to say, and I don’t like siding with AP on things, so I feel like my stance is somewhere in between. Did the club acknowledge the email at least? If not, I think that’s a bit poor despite what’s happened since, but I did think it (the email) went out after the derby loss and chief resigning, as it also covered lots that wouldn’t be answered / resolved by him leaving? Fingers crossed you get some correspondence back from them this week ballane 👍 It was an excellent email and I’m certainly not having kittens waiting for it 😂
