Sorry to hear that. You kind of expect that in active supporter sections, though.

No you don't. Unacceptable. Fullstop

According to Nick Meredith on Twitter, neither do any kiwis. Which makes me think of a tree falling in a forest, for some reason.

just got back from game, voice lost.

fanfudgeingtastic

what a way to draw people back in

didnt see Dix banner but did see "FTFFA" at the beginning there

'metrics' on the scoreboard for the croud was absolutely genius, laughter in the stands at that

goals looked quality close up

Huge dilemma

Friday is a Black out the Heart/Adelaide game but:

  • Last time I wore stripey we lost to FFA FC (will be the closest I get to wearing black)
  • Last time I wore sexy white away (2012-14 season) we beat Roar
  • Am expecting the Shorty St Tees to arrive in the next day or two

What to wear?

No shortland st tees yet and we did win with the away strip so that will be my attire, plus beanie and scarf.  May go old school and bring along the flags.

Vuvuzelas?

Bring flags. Do it.

OK - that's two home wins wearing the sexy white away shirt.  Flags may have been helpful too.

Watched Melb City v WSW on SBS2 here in Melbourne.

After the game, they did show the goals from our game.

Did they actually talk about Phoenix?

Nah, it was all about Adelaide and how they're struggling this season. Not a word about the Nix.

Wankers, wankers, wankers!

There is a definite anti-Nix vibe coming out of the Fox Sport croud in recent weeks. Hardly surprising given they are basically the propaganda wing of FFA. I know a lot of people here don't like Andrew Dewhurst but he deserves full credit for his very supportive and positive comments about the club, the players, the fans and the Nix's brand of attacking football.

As far as a result to match the situation, I couldn't be more proud to be a nix supporter right now. Concede a ridiculously early goal, so easily a croud killer - but not this time, in front 20 minutes later.

Was surprised when Roly didn't get MoM, he was immense, but really Roy's effort to miss an international appearance and then get away and back in a week, and put in that kind of shift......

<tips cap>. Player passion to match all of us.

Oh and how cool was it to see people packed in right round to aisle 30ish?!

An addition to that ever-growing list of obscure football quiz questions in last night's game - which Wellington Phoenix player was booked by the referee before stepping onto the pitch to make his debut for the club in the same match? :-)

That Troy Danaskos incident was strange - I can't see from video exactly what he did wrong! If it was encroachment, there were a few others who could have been booked as well.

The teevee said it was Powell who got the card. The commentary was off in the bar, but I gathered it was for what the Italians call 'festaggiamento essessivo' for Roly's wonder goal.

I just read the match report on the Fox website. No mention of the croud at all despite all of the crap they've been saying about it, and you'd think that only one team was playing last night. It's all Adelaide this, Adelaide that. Really annoying. I'd link to it here but I don't want to give them the metrics

Great game..not having Wee Mac added a faster play dimension for me.  Easy swap tho back for Powell I guess but I wonder if Ernie might be tempted not to change it.

Sarpong unlucky but gaining on confidence.

Roly...well.  Great turns and what goal.

Well, THE Prediction wasn't far off. A very convincing win.

Exciting game, well played lads.

The ONLY down side for us was a couple of tuwats in the Zone lobbing bottles. It's odd, but this only seems to happen when the Zone gets packed out with newcomers. I think they think this is how football fans are supposed to behave-

To help educate them, no, they're wrong. To further educate them, if someone does it in my reach I will explain this with a major injury in the bollocks area.

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

Dewhurst made some odd comments, including that one about the 'one off' away strip, and he thought Powell was carded on the bench after Ridenton scored initially but then tried to figure out who it was (they never did say who it was).

But credit where credit is due, as Outpost already said, he made many positive comments about the club and supporters and spent about a minute outlining the fantastic fundraising campaign to buy memberships for deserving volunteers around Wellington.

A lot of the pregame was all about the positive ways in which the club and Yellow Fever have responded to the FFA, rather than how bad the FFA and their decisions are and what it could potentially mean for NZ football, which is a far better approach.

Yep, I assume it's the same feed. However, different studio hosts (David Zdrilic and Craig Foster). And they didn't utter a word about the Nix.

That was the best Phoenix night ever. Thanks guys. An awesome experience, and love Friday night football. Spoke to lots of out of towners who came in to support us, and they were buzzing.

Was a masterclass by Bonevacia - they have to hunt in packs to try and stop his influence now - but the whole side was mammoth with their energy and creativeness.
