Folks,
Is your name Jeremy Coney?
Dylan Hall, Steve Gulley, Luis Fonseca, Sam Blackburn, Mike Halikias, Craig Alderdice, George Barbarouses, Eagar - cant think of who esle was involved in that one.
i imagine itd be something along the lines of the guys who played
against the u20s?
funny isnt it.....the ex-Wests coach requests a game vs a "Central
League XI" then no Wests players are released for it.
Wests have an easy game on Sunday so they could surely spare most
of their 1st team for this game.
Obviously Uncle Steve and Pavlos has not seen this comment.....YET chareimos2007-06-20 17:35:47

Just a quick question. Are there any football pitches at the Hutt
Rec. Last I saw they were all rugby. It so, where on the rec ground
is the grass going to be short enough for decent football?
Pretty sure the lights are only on one piece of the ground anyway so they don't have much choice.
Friday night moved to Hutt Rec
Folks,
Looks like this Friday nights game against a Central league Selection has been moved to the Hutt Rec. as Porirua Park is a mess.

What time is kickoff?
Excellent question. Next ?
19:00 supposedly.
On some flyers they gave out yesterday its down as Hutt Rec at 7pm
Oohh, under lights. Excellent, I'll be there, mos def!
i don't fancy the chances of that pitch holding up too well.
it gets plodded by hutt old boys rfc every saturday and doesn't
drain too well.
this conjures up memories of fred de jong sliding through the
mud to push the ball over the goal line to beat the socceroos
1-0 a couple of decades ago!

won't they all have league games the next day?
yeah they will - there was some issue around wests being the only
club to not release players for the last lot of games vs
U20s.......funny isnt it.....the ex-Wests coach requests a game vs
a "Central League XI" then no Wests players are released for
it.....but yes it will be interesting to see who gets released for
this fixture.
Hmmm, hadn't thought of that. . . . one might be
forgiven for suggesting a cunning ruse.
yes Phil fairly odd is it not....let me re-enact for you.
SJ: Hi Mick, Stu here.....any chance of throwing together a team of Central Leaguers, which would effectively be a Team Wellington, who u dont coach anymore.....to play against my U20s? Oh while im at it, no Wests players are to play in this fixture, would hate for them to be burnt out for their game this weekend.
MW: Not a problem Stuey ol' chap, can make it my last hurrah......i'll call the coaches of the wgtn based teams and put something together, except Calcott.....don't wanna upset him, he could turn red......
SJ: Cheers Mick, your a legend, i loved your work with the All Whites to while im at it...
Call ended
Now I have used some artistic licence in their, but u get the jist of it do ya not?

Andy Barron and Woody Patrick are playing (for the first time in a
while). Dylan is injured - so unsure who the keeper is - anyone
handy between the sticks?
No question wests will take this one. Olympic too weak
ATM.
But easy...we never are, fight till we die.
Cant wait for Friday night tho.

But the most important thing Uncle Steve is that you'll still
be there supporting them
Funny thing is, i found out i gotta work.
sh*t.
So whos all going along tonight??? Hopin we get a decent crowd in to show the boys they hav support even tho its only a trial game, we should try and get a bit more vocal as well maybe a good opportunity to test some of the chants out..........

I think the mayor of the Hutt asked them to play there - so
hopefully he has been out with the mower midweek.
If not they can play a game of touch
most of the girls I met from the Hutt were mare's.....
hutt chicks rule!!! up for anything mate
That well draining Hutt Park might have been better
Pretty sure the lights are only on one piece of the ground anyway so they don't have much choice.
As for whoever had a mare of a Hutt Chick, ur not grazing the right
areas mate, go shopping somewhere else.
Hutt Rec will have drained quite niceley in the sun all day today. Hutt Park Raceway is stil hard as a rock hahha, its our home ground right "Dennis Ibrihim"
We're gonna park up on touchline level, get nice and close to the action. no doubt with a brew or 2

yip, there's only one lit pitch.
the rugby goals were still up this morning. the
pitch was also unmarked and the grass was long (rugby
length).
however, there were a few excel vehicles on hand, so hopefully
mayor ogden has it all sorted by now
goal posts up when drove past about 5 minutes ago
i'm only 5 minutes away from park so trying to decide wether to drive or walk hahaha, numbers hard to guess so not sure on how hard parking will be!!!

Any match reports?
difficult conditions, with a level 19 gale blowing straight down
the pitch. CL Selection played with the wind in the first
half and scored after about 15 minutes. Barron hit a free
kick from a 40 yards which the Phoenix keeper did well to tip over
the bar. Not much else in the 1st half.
Second half dominated by the nix. Daniel scored a
penalty, some other players scored, and Brown conceeded about 36
free kicks. Covs got a lovely goal and Brown showed some
class setting up the fifth in the last minute.
Lochead looked the business, Daniel showed some nice touches
(he'd never seen rain before) and the Korean trialist looked ok at
right back.
Good performance, and an ok crowd considering the
cold.
Cheers FM so 5-1 final score - any notable performances from the CL
team?
Ian Robinson was busy in the middle, Andy Barron played right back
(possibly asked to play there so Ricky could check him out as cover
for that position), Hall did ok in goal.
I think Covs got a pair, plus Old or Smeltz got one, then Brownlie
scored on full time.
That's great for the Phoenix. About how many were watching?
I think Daniel is gonna be a standout this year. Was probably hating the conditions though!
