it from TVNZ, but I thought TV3 might have at least mentioned the
score, espcially given they had a football story on about the
Manchester United Cup. Instead they ran an absolute nothing
story about some women's rugby team in Aussie who have never scored
a point. Attrocious. Criminal. Disgraceful.

Now that Auckland are no longer in the A League, I was wondering
how long it would take their self centered bias to show.
There really wasn't a football game on last night because they
didn't show any goal coverage. But you got to see a skateboarder
fall from grace for about the third day in a row!
And they wonder why the rest of New Zealand think they're a
bunch of planks up there in the media?

Granted it is preseason but they had a story on the Corondilly womens rugby team from NSW who made the news 'cos they've never scored a point. And the big news from tonight...
...they still haven't.Surely the Phoenix game had to rate higher than that (2 blind

night!! There's a difference between being sly in not mentioning
footy and being totally obvious in the fact that your scared to

Watch TV3 as they are the lesser of two evils. Had a good article
about some Central Utd kids training at Man Utd. No mention of Nix
game. They did on Prime however who are very good.

have no identity. I mean a city of people who are proud to be

Back to the TV debate. I would hope all the networks would get
behind a club that is taking on Australians, but tonight has left

So, I've sent an email to TV3 and suggested they source some video footage from SBS.
And it might be worth sending emails to TV1 and TV3 on Wednesday about the Friday night game?

for me it's all about leaning on the mainstream media to do
whatever we can to lift the profile of the phoenix and
football,
whether we take the "squeaky wheel gets the oil
approach" or the "thanks for the coverage/crumbs" approach depends
on what we think will work best
so, does anyone here know how tv and other media factor emails
etc into their decision making about what to cover???

If you ring and ask to be put through to the sports news
department you seriously piss them off, since you are taking people
away from their jobs. That was the Coro St oldies did it when their
programme was dropped during the Olympics a few years back.
Ring, complain. Ring again, use a different name, a different

what annoys me is that when we got beat in the first game (CCM
game), TV1 and TV3 both mentioned it. "New soccer
team, the Phoenix (snigger) lost their first game (snigger) 2-0"
They didn't show footage as they had none, but they saw fit to
mention it.
When we win, and let's not forget that our 2 wins have been
against the last 2 champions, they go with the "only pre-season" or
"we have no footage" bullsh*t.
It really fcuks me off, and I would love it, really love
it.......

agreed Frankie, I'm not aware of any law in this country that
says you have to have footage before you are allowed to mention a
result

I think everyone should relax a bit, it is preseason. Start
burning cars during the real season if you have to.
