Have you ever seen George play?
I have seen him at training and the issue is not his attitude,
it is the fact that he cannot control a ball. That is not
because he is not risking getting injured - it is a fundemental
lack of skill.
I want to be given my chance to shine, so I am expecting at
least half a game against Sydney and a start against Perth.
I think you've asked me this before... YES.
Twice. And people I know, and trust, in Brasil say that he
was still playing well when they last saw him in action. They
ask me why he's not playing when his team are struggling to score
and I can't answer them.
As for the trapping of the ball thing, as I've already said,
he's not a skill player - though I'm told (by those who know
him) that his skill level increases when he can see the goal.
It may well be the communication thing, but I suspect it's
more of a Ricki thing. Thing is, if Ricki's got no interest
in using him, he should just pay the lad's contract out and let him
leave - freeing up a spot in the squad for someone else. That
said, it's only 3 games in, there's a lot of football to be played
and I'm sure he'll get some gametime sooner or later (although I
have a sneaky suspicion it'll be wide on the right, where he's less
likely to get shots in and won't look as impressive).
