They're not my t-shirts LOL. I just posted a thread asking about them (indeed my thread was critical of the shocking design), which subsequently 'disappeared' from the YF site.
I do find the censorship amusing, much more amusing than the t-shirts, hence my follow-up thread you're now reading.

If they are the ones the "ladies" at the bottom of the concourse were hawking and giving away stickers for at the game last night, they looked quite tragic. they are plain yellow with very bland designs. whats the point if in getting gear that doesnt assocate itself with either YF or the Phoenix?
BTW the got pie T-shirts looked cool, but they should have got Boycie @ the B.B (ohh the irony) to model them earlier you would have sold out nearly instantly.

Is the name Yellowfever trademarked.
And (I just studied this so I should know :P) does YF Ultra break copyright?

and i quote...
"Its something we feel is appropriate right now the time is right as there isn't a great deal out there for the discerning fan who appreciates her/his individuality.
Of course not all our shirts will appeal to everyone but were sure there's something here for you all."
how can you be an individual if everyone is wearing the same shirts? or are you an indiviual cos no one else will buy the shirts except you (you being the person who actually buys one not anyone in particular).
good on them i guess for trying to grow the presence of football in the capital and interest in the phoenix

The question is should we be censoring them. I say no! They are stil shirts that support the phoenix and if people like them and choose to wear them ( i LIKE THE SEX PISTOLS ONE) THATS GREAT FOR THE PHOENIX AND THE GAME OF FOOTBALL . Censorship because we might disagree with the motives or design is crap. I KNOW WHO HAS STARTED THEM UP AND GOOD ON HIM HE HAD THE BRAINS AND THE BALLS TO DO IT . i will wear one proudly. And in the yellow fever zone if I choose to.

i can see why the post was deleted, you don't see kfc advertised in Mcdonald's or Nike being promoted in a Reebok shop.good luck to the guy/girl though hope they don't lose out on their investment.

I was in no way advertising the t-shirts in my initial thread - I just asked if anyone knew anything about them (like I said, I think they're terrible. The only decent 'supporter' t-shirt design I've seen is the original Retro Ricki tbh).
Perhaps the forum rules need to be amended to include moderators' policy on anti-competitive behaviour?

Thats kinda true but were on the same team or cause, phoenix and football, what about rise as one and all that. why not buy one of each or the whole f**king lot and have one for each day of the weak. would dey be more popular if they were yf shirts? Support each other its all gd. Maybe everone should make their own f**king shirt design. Now theres a contest design a new yellow fever or tnix shirt and win the whole range for the best design.

A trip to White Hart Lane and you'll see tons of stalls with unoffical stuff outside the ground...a gazllion Del Boys and Rodneys, good luck to them.
I'm hardly surprised to see someone with the same intent pop up here. However, The T-shirt designs are soooo bad I laughed my socks off...although saying that the 08 YF designs only have a 1/3 appeal to me as well.
It's that 2nd album release problem all over again.... just hope the team can improve on V 1.HarryHotspur2008-07-21 19:40:02

The only reason these "other" shirts are out there is because smeone has picked up on the lucklustreness 2008 range. If the fever consulted with members over designs and took suggestions and had a poll then consumers would have more of a personal investment in them - think American Idol. In saying that the best thing they could have done, and did, was retain the Retro Ricki which is obviously a timeless classic.
Someone said that the creators of these knockoffs are trying to get on the $$$$ bandwagon. Where is the $$$ of the official Fever range going? The only money I've seen go fotballs way is the "Scholarship" worth a petty $500.
Oh Wellington is wonderful. We got the wind, the rain and the phoenix. Oh Wellington is wonderful.

Two things:
1. The scholar got $500. Then there was the accommodation we provided. The car we gave him to drive around. The gear he got.
2. The money goes into (as covered at the AGM) running the website, season launch and end party, miscellaneous donations to good causes, running the car (needs a new engine soon!) etc etc.
Just for the record not one of the executive has taken a penny out of the company for themselves.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Kind of made it hard to talk on the subject.

Football mum is dead right.
We're all here for the Nix. Fever's an open organisation and if anyone wants to see where the money goes you're all more than welcome. There's not much of it to follow...

Personally I have a BIG problem with the use of the term Ultra in any context to do with the Fever, it smacks of the Melbourne try-hards Irony or not.
We're not overly worried about competitors and despite allegations here we have been quite open about where funds from shirts have gone (see posts above). There is (as you say Wumbo) a question to be asked about ownership of the Fever brand, but at the same time we don't want to be t**sers about this, everyone has a right to support the Phoenix in their own way as long as it doesn't negatively impact the club or other supporters..
Elaborated.
$40 off Trade Me... hate to think what it would have cost otherwise.

So far we have had a very good relationship with the club. We just want that to continue because that means the supporters have a voice in the way things are run. If people make a bad impression in YF gear, or anything associated with YF, then it can impact on everyone (like the bottle throwing last year and the subsequent changes in access to the fever zone). We're not protectionist, we just want to keep the good relations up and part of that is tryng to keep track of what is going on.
Perhaps someone should ask the sellers of the other t-shirts where their funds are going??

Wonder what the response to one in the fever zone would be?!
