Good luck to the Phoenix for 2010/11

My thanks to Yellow Fever for attracting me to the beautiful game of football and then putting up with me

Long ago I used to play football kick a ball around a field with 21 others but never really watched the game on TV. I got up for big games in the UK like the FA Cup but inevitably fell asleep.

Enter the Wellington Phoenix and I'll readily admit that it took some success from the team to spark my initial interest in the team. But the attitude and personality of the lads, along the great bunch of Yellow Fever guys, has fostered a long term interest that I know will remain for years and potentially a lifetime.

Rugby and cricket were games I followed with a passion for years, but now I'm totally mad about football. Not to the extent that I'll watch any two sides play, but enough that I've decided to watch every Phoenix game this season (work permitting) even though I don't have SKY at home. I'll find a way. Even a month ago I wouldn't have imagined myself intending on watching the entire season of 'Nix games.

The whole team has always acted with professionalism both on and off the field, and have generally just been great blokes. I wish you well for 2010/11 and will be behind you all the way regardless of results. See you at AMI on December 5 :)

Superstition Alert.

Speaking of luck - I just remembered a crucial tradition from last season.

Has any female slapped Ifill in Courtenay Place and run away this preseason? If not, can someone make sure it's done before the GCU game?

Also, just be safe, slap all the new signings as well, in case that's what brought us luck last season.

We should also have a superstition whereby if we see Kruse or Payne we should also slap them and run away.

Doesn't have to be at the start of the season either.

Murphys law petone, Export 33 and Jamesons are running a Football Fever membership this season, $40 includes Bus to and from the game (except Fridays, unless demand says otherwise) 20% discount on all match days, home and away, and aftermatch food put on for all club members. our Scottish Chaperone will take care of the members on the bus to and from the game.

Register online at murphyslawpetone.co.nz or contact the bar on 045868400

After last seasons heroics, the amazing day against Bahrain and the world cup, the Hutt Valley needs a Pub where supporters can get together and talk football, get loud, and fire up for the season!

Hop on board the Murphys Supporters club!

God that's totally lame. Fever membership WTF????

Freeloading the club's logo too. Not sure how allowed that is.

jsut to clarify, this isnt a freeload off yellow fever in no shape, way or form. it is just a way for local Hutt supporters to gather and commute to the games this season.
The logo is used as Export 33 are a Phoenix sponsor this season (Check out the shorts logo) and they have offerd us  a deal that we can pass on to Phoenix supporters.
hardly lame, but trying to gather more supprt for our team.
The fever guys have let me know about marketing on the forum site as well.
If it works its a win-win for Phoenix and the Pub, and dont kid yourself, how many places are trying to promote the Phoenix to gather support this year?? Not Many...

Well anyway - I hope someone offers you a job in Wgtn Ahmad.

Once Lonegunmen has disposed of Mothra you can challenge him for the Nix mascot title.

Or we can have a Bambang corner opposite the Daniel corner.
