wasnt sure whether to put this in nz footbal foruml or this forum - personally i think it would be more beneficial for NZ players to be spread across the A League even if it does mean they aint playin for the nix.

Moss - Melbum
Smeltz - The real Bling
Brockie - (pfttt,  laughs) Fury

suppose it's good for NZ football but not that great for the phoenix, unless we sign more decent Oz players

Will we still ask mossy to give us a wave at the fever end of the pitch ?? or will he get the "worst keeper in the league" treatment

I think its good for New Zealand football to have a strong presence right across the league. I don't really mind what nationality the Nix players are so long as they are up to the job. In saying that, I still want there to be a strong presence of All Whites in the Nix.

Eh?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Great for NZ for other teams to have our second string players. Which may be the only upshot for Moss leaving, assuming Paston actually learns how to make a save.

Smeltz = bad for NZ Football
Moss = depends on Paston
Brockie = good for NZ Football

one of the biggest problems with NZ football is that all NZ football fans are supposed to worry about the state of NZ football - it's like a poverty cycle.

I'll leave the worrying about NZ football to you guys

good to have them spread through a range of different teams. You dont want them ALL in the nix.

don't worry, he's going to live on a farm - he'll be running around chasing ducks having a great time.

Be strong.

Brockie getting picked up is great because I don't think we were ever going to give him a shot. Smeltz and Moss however..not so much. valeo2008-11-18 22:08:33

I'M JUST SO HAPPY HE'S LEAVING THE CLUB I LIKE BECAUSE IT'S GOOD FOR "NZ FOOTBALL".

I actually think its good for us... if this makes the All Whites stronger, then more NZ public watches then NZ expands even greater and eventually the Phoenix are the Celtic or the A-league. (If I had said Chelsea, Man utd, Arsenal or lpool it would've sparked a huge debate, so I chose SPL and Celtic)

That's two reaaaaaallllllyyyyyy optomistic ideas in 2 minutes. (See the AFC / get rid of the Phoenix thread)Michael2008-11-19 00:40:47

Maybe Tony and Terry are setting things up to become an Australian club based in NZ? after all this OFC, AFC and FIFA bollocks

It's probably a good idea.

Edit: is there any benefit to remaining a "NZ" club?

At the moment, NZ players don't count as imports. That's the only benefit.

If more clubs have New Zealand players, then there's more force saying that they shouldn't count as imports.

i thouhgt tony had already said that the nix are an aus club based in nz in another thread - therefor all the nix players are registered in australia
