Midfielder from the Mariners here and wish to share with you a little radio promotion that has got a lot of people talking on the coast. Could maybe work for Nix next year
One of the guys trying to win has posted youtube below.
How its works one of the local radion stations got life size
cut outs of all Mariners players & coaches. Ran a comp for
tragic Mariner fans to carrry life size cut out everywhere for a
month. The winner gets $ 5, 000.00 so its worth winning. It took a
month to choose who would get a cut out, there was a comp just
to get a cut out, so its kinda almost a season of promotion
in one game. Funny seeing people in trains walking around the
street on bridges; people are very clever in getting their cut
outs looked at.
To win you have to get the most number of people watching and
photos etc. Every day the radio stations talks to cut out holders.
Created a real good feel between the media and the Mariners, got
lots of people talking on the coast. Radio station very happy with
coverage and talk around town. lots of good feeling created on the
coast by non football types, and Mariner brand out there each
day.
A couple of people have got the cut outs on national TV, and
even got some of the morning TV shows talking about it. What is
also interesting is how other CC radio stations reacted, they (only
another 2) they starting giving more time to the Mariners.

That's quite neat.
Soccer AM do something similar. You can print out life-sized copies of the show's cast and then take them places and have pics taken with them. They get some hilarious ones.Incidentally if you haven't checked out Soccer AM it is
hilarious and well worth a look. Download it illegally from
somewhere today.

yeah ive seen them around. saw one woman in erina fair (shopping
centre) with one who was busking. i thought she was some psycho
woman but then i saw another guy at the pub the next night and the
same woman again aswell. if i hadnt been working it would have been
straight home to put the retro riki on and crack out a who are ya!
maybe even get there photos taken with nix scarf

If not it is a must see, its in the Central Coast LEAGUE
club.
In the middle of a leagues club is this entire bar filled
with Mariners stuff everywhere, many say its a leagues club in name
only. On match day the staff all in Mariners T Shirts somtimes
travelling supportors and Mariners have sing off in club, lift the
roof off - but all in good fun , no volience.
On match days the place is so alive with people all over the
place in club colours, flags, see if you can get to the club about
two hours before Mariners V Flying Circus match, wear you NIX's
gear, have a feed and drink if I can find you I will bye you
a beer or four or was that six

CCM sounds like an awesomely run club. Kinda similar to what Welly
have started I reckon.
