Afternoon all,

Tranmere supporter here just looking to see how Chrissy is getting on. Absolutely love the guy and we are really missing him this season. We only get 30 minutes footage here so don't really get to see him much but loved the win at the weekend.

Doing reasonably well.  Scored three goals for us.  For about a month he was somewhat anonymous on the field for us but in the game against Gold Coast (the 6-0 win) he finally got back into it and it was great to see.  He's a classy player alright.

Our style of play hasn't really suited him in that he's been palying up front without a lot of support and hasn't had a lot of chances fall his way (but the ones he's buried have been really good), but he's very well respected for the amount of work he gets through.  He seems to be enjoying his time in Wellington and had a great game on the weekend.

He's actually been a little overshadowed by our other Englishman Paul Ifil who came from Crystal Palace.  He's been brilliant attacking wise, one of the better players in the league scoring and also making goals.

English imports to the A-League have generally not done so well (generally they've been at the end of their careers and/or looking for one last pay day) but these two have restored the faith!  Both have said that they have other guys they know who are interested in coming out which could be great for us.

Commiserations for your start to the season although I suppose things could only get better!

Chris Greenacre's first goal should never have been a goal though.  Spectacular fail on the part of the Newcastle keeper.

It's the A-League, just getting shots on target will bring you goals

Ronnie Moore was absolutely right about Chris!!
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

As the above article mentions, Greenacre played in the English leagues alongside a taller target man, so there is some time to adjust to the different style of play at the Phoenix.

Having said that, he does a power of work during each game, his 3 goals so far have been good for the team, and I expect if the team continues to play Ifill in a more central/upfront role as we did against Gold Coast, you will see Greenacre get on the score sheet more often.

He is also 100% professional. A workaholic on the pitch, great with the media and fans off the pitch. I love him.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Chrissy was a a legend for us and it is true that he is not a target man. Some great footage on you tube of greenie's best goals for us. Check it out. Enjoying the coverage over here. Can't believe you got Ifill. Always been quality if he can stay clear of injuries.Wellington are now my second club. Come on Phoenix!!!!!!!!!!

Trying to get a shirt but quite difficult to get over here. Only seen Fury ones due to obvious reasons.

Talk to Phil at Ryos Sports, he'll sort you one for sure.  He's on here as Ryos4Phoenix so PM him.

Nice

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
