As we're about to kick off what sort of half time entertainment would you like to see put on??

For example, A game that's called "Around the pole" that was done at QPR for a few seasons. It's where you have a portable pole on the edge of the 18 yard box and  you have to tun around the pole 10 times as quick as you can and then try and score a penalty - being dizzy adds to the fun. There is a goalkeeper in the goal. If you can score a goal there's a prize. At QPR they were giving away a DVD player to the winner (Please note this Sony) and 5 fans were drawn from match day entry to participate. The Nix could do it with fans texting a certain number to enter or through ticket seat numbers.

Most people will probably fall over and give the crowd something to have a bit of a laugh at. A bit of harmless fun.

Drum group, lots of music played through the loud-speakers ('Swing', 'Crank Dat', etc), dogs that walk on two legs and fireworks like at the Olympics opening ceremony.

kids running around playing half field footy while mum and dad cheer and take photos of their little boy/girl growing up,whilst the rest of us, go for a smoke, get more beer, buy a pie take, a leak and talk about how great the first half was or wasn't depending on how in fact the game has been going ?

what giddyup said,

half time doesn't need entertainment

though I might raise an eyebrow if  a dog on two legs played a drum whilst smoking a cigar (spca -approved, of course)

I like the idea of going one on one with one of the phoenix players/keepers. IE nutmeg daniel or something to that effect!!! I'd love to take a penalty against Mossy, or perhaps try save Smeltz

I would prefer that they were back in the dressing room preparing for the 2nd half.

What's wrong with standing around having a yarn with the chap next to you?

Pies win easy they won't break apart like burgers and their shape makes very aerodynamic .

In the states they play paintball anywhere. We could give the junior teams paintball guns, throw some blow up obstacles on the field and get them to shoot each other, it'd be modern day rome!!!

Two minor sides like Syney FC or Melbourne get to play each other during the break. WPFC fans idly note their lack of all round quality and wish them well for when they become proper teams, whilst downing ales and pies/chips.

team drink offs squad players that arnt playing have to have a 'boat race' against the other teams squad players or some yellow fever members

To be honest I liked the kids that would play down in front of the fever zone last season, gives them a great feeling to go out on a proper pitch for a kick around and the zone normally cheers for them when they score which must be an awesome feeling.

Something to do with youth football at least I reckon, though that's not to say they can't do this AND other activities for the crowd.  Will ZM be there holding their comps again?

I miss the good old days... why can't we have traditional entertainment like a brass band or a police dog display?
Permalink Permalink
over 17 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
It's my abiding memory of the FA Cup final when I was a kid... waiting for the match to start and all you have to look at is a brass band playing in the middle of the Wembley pitch.
And I couldn't begin to count the number of police dog displays I saw at sports events in my youth.
