I arrived in NZ in 1992 now that was a bleak footballing landscape,maybe you should look at things from a slightly more historical perspective and move a way from the quick hand job mentality you seem to adhere to at the moment ,things even at this low point are a proverbial rose garden compared to then !!
I think the benefit of the recent successes will come through in the next five to ten years given the upsurge in the sports popularity particularly with" di yoof ",its the most popular participant team sport with kids by far ,a lot of this growing popularity can be attributed to the Phoenix and All Whites coverage in the media !
I'm not sure if you (Ultra Red) are a fair weather fan who likes stirring it ,an egg chasing John Kirwan type or even worse an Aussie!!

Well it seems that my comments are ringing true. Even the press are suggesting the Phoenix bubble has burst. The home fortress was easliy dismantled on Wednesday night. No team will fear this stadium as they once did.
Don't get me wrong I think the team is much better than what the results are.
But first I recieved a private message from an arsenal supporter person who was upset up about being called a moron. So first I need to apologise to all you morons for calling you Arsenal supporters.
Morons should be used to describe scousers and geordies..lol
To the person who has such a fragile personalty I recall the comment moron and in the words of Billy Bright "the football factory" soppy bollocks would be a fit term.
So back to the Phoenix, the coach should fall on his sword. Rikki Herbert is showing his true man management skills and some of his selections and team formations have left more than one person with there head shaking.
The much vaunted defence reminds me of the Football Knights....22 goals already this season..
The team needs a playmaker and a striker.
Macallistar, Hearfield, Ward, Diego, Greenacre, Sigmund all need to be released and the funds put towards signing two players who fit the mould of a goal poacher and playmaker.
Rikki Herbert if he doesn't take the Phoenix to the playoffs with the squad he has this season should be removed from the role.
Me I rate Frank Farina as abetter coach
Football in New Zealand took a major leap forward last season, this year the same has not rung true.

can I just say a quick thank you to Ultra Red.
After a poor night on Wednesday night his post and the subsequent replies have provided some great entertainment. reminds me of its always sunny in philadelphia, I'll let you decide which one is ultra red and which one is liverpoolfan1 (the closet gooner):

well lets look at the attendance average 7.5k this year 11.6 k last year.
In the preworld cup camp in Austria who did we play? and what were the results.
No it is not a negative thread but a look at the bare facts.
This is not UCL and 20 million pounds would buy the entire A league.
The Phoenix last year played some really good football and the results justified the great finals run.
And to the moron who mentioned Spain and hatricks has to be a moron or an Arsenal fan or from Kelburn but there is no difference.
My comment was aimed at the lack of a true goal scorer in either the Phoenix or All White team.
Take a look at the away record...some of these games the Nix lost rather than the opposition winning.
last year we drew these matches thus collecting a point and denying the opposition two points..
That aint happening this year.......
Me I enjoy watching the Nix and have not missed a game since their inception.
As a team they have to take the good with the bad....
Well I've only missed about 3 home matches. I pretty much recognize all the regulars who go to the match and I'd be interested to know who the f*ck you are.
