Help - (Austrian) Bundesliga player wanting to visit Phoenix

An Austrian Bundesliga player, Austrian Cup winner and former youth international, who is in NZ on extended OE, would like to visit the Phoenix - see them train, talk to management. He's 26, and interested in immigrating to NZ. Looking for a career in soccer - probably as a coach rather than a player, but who knows.

He has emailed the club but no reply.

If anyone can help organise a time when he can visit, or someone he could call, please email zer@xtra.co.nz

Thanks.

Austrian Bundesliga? Talk about deceptive subject lines.

Thats a pro stalk, how did you even deduct? Tab spam from a list of players and then checking through each one?

Same age as ACFC's new Portugese ex-under-20 (14 caps, 3 goals) and ex-under 21 (20 caps, 4 goals) rep.

He has a knack for hitting wood like Hernandez, get him on board.

Surely couldn't hurt to offer him a playing trial as Riera's injury replacement?

Seems really strange to retire so young though, its not like you can't play for clubs in lower league around the world or save your cash over your career and spend you early 30's travelling.

Edit: After googling I see he has an unfortunate history of injury, probably a factor.

Still hard to tell how good someone is from a highlights reel - for example, check out how awesome this guy looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYHmYczcPg4

another example is how not rubbish Totori looked in the first couple of goals - and we know how that turned out.

I'd say that it is your guy. Just did a quick facebook search and it says his wife lives in Auckland...

That would help - we all know how unhappy Carlos was about family separation.
Maybe he is aiming for a family reunion? It did not say "ex-wife", did it?

We need injury cover in midfield! Sign him, how bad could it be.

Thanks all but I think the, umm, player in question, is really more interested in coaching. He's heading down to Wellington next week, so if anyone does have any contacts (he's had no reply to multiple emails) please sing out.

Thanks.

Not too sure the club are looking out for new coaching staff to be honest?

Allegedly

Perhaps he can coach midfielders. They need some at the mo.

I'd say that if there were a coaching position, it would probably be in the Phoenix academy/school of excellence with the youth/development players. We don't have the financial resources of many other professional clubs, but you never know..
