Hey does anyone have any good ideas on how a few 12 - 15 year old can watch the game? I usually go to all the home games with them, but we dont have sky and I'm only 20 so cant really be their guardian.
I've considered trying to find a parent to take them but because of the time they arent too keen.
I even thought bout the local McDonalds and asking them to play it for us but dunno if it'd work.
I think it'd be a shame if they can't get to see it because they are loyal fans so any help would be great please!!

We watched cricket at McDonalds Newtown. KFC around the corner from Courtenay apparently also has Sky Sport. Of course we weren't watching at midnight though.
I'm sure the managers would oblige if you were bringing in a group and spending money on food.
I guess it's a "back scratching" thing - if I go to see sport at a resturant/bar then I'll always buy something even if I'm not particularly thirsty or hungry.

There's got to be an adult here who will help you out! Come on, who wants to be some kid's dad for a night? You won't have to hug him and tell him you love him (you can if you want), just watch a game of football with him.

Try McDonalds Basin Reserve. Open 24 hours and always have sport on the tv when it's on.
They are a great bunch of people and I'm sure will put the Phoenix on if you ask... Just make sure to buy the guys a Happy Meal.

Nah, Harry. It's changed now. They've done a complete makeover of it now. No TV there anymore. But disappointed tbh.

I think because its a Saturday. Finding a pub for younger people to watch at will be pretty hard. You couls always ring up the Backbencher and find out if they will let some kiddies in.
Best to watch it home or find a friends place.

This I would say your chance of getting in anywhere in town would be low, Every pub/club will have a bouncer on the door.

I couldn't even take my young boy (ie. obviously not going to drink alcohol although I guess there are some completely f***d up parents out there) into one of the bars below "Downtown Backpackers" in Wellington. They said something about their license not allowing for kids.
Luckily I was able to get into the other bar that is situated on the same corner, but Junior was not allowed to go into the Pokies area.

What the hell? Where are the coll boys suppose to watch the world cup before school now and be late so Ashby comes down and tells everyone off?
I remember getting into Molly's with my mum like last year? Or try a live stream on Justin.tv?

Hey I know this isn't going to help much but I just noticed that the game is going to be on Prime TONIGHT. I was guessing it might be tomorrow afternoon or something but nope, coverage starts at 11:40pm and runs until 1:40am. It actually is being run ahead of the Cricket highlights at 1:40am so football just got priority over cricket.

oh I was wondering if thatd be the case? Prime has been good to us lately

It finishes at an ungodly hour though, especially if there is going to be extra time.
Last week Prime added to the scheduled broadcast to account for extra time rather than editing bits out of the coverage - big ups to Prime/owner SKY for doing that.
However tonight with Cricket due to run from 1:40am to 2:40am I'm not so certain that they wouldn't end up editing out stuff to prevent an over-run.

When the Nix play in the grand final next week, I'd be interested in seeing what might be around for young supporters. from Steve-O in another thread the kick off is 9pm - still a bit late, but would be intersted if a venue is available to watch on a big screen or whatever fot the price of a couple of happy meals or equivalent.

Find a cheap motel in the Hutt that has sky. $80 a night, = $20 each. Make sure it's not one you pay by for the hour though, or the under 18's might get a bit distracted.

I can see it now, a guy walking into the motel with 3 or four young kids in tow "Can I have a room for 2 hours please, oh and ignore any noise you hear coming from the room."
