I'm at work right now so I will give more details later...

Basically my dads ex work mate knows of me and is now working as a media manager for NZ football. He's asked if I could make a video about why I love the Phoenix and to encourage others to get behind the team.

I'm a 19 year old university student from Wellington but now living in Auckland, I'm apt at editing but I'm trying to think of ideas that would make for a good video. It should be uploaded on Facebook so it should be something suitable for social media. (Perhaps humour included)  I would love some of your ideas to help me out.

My Dads ex work mate? Media Manager for NZ football?

I don't want to be disrespectful but is this a case of literally jobs for the boys?

Maybe this should be the subject of your video - all that is wrong with NZ football?

Its to create a little social media attention, what's wrong with that... besides, it may not even be a paid gig.

Perhaps the Media guy was discussing with a friend ideas for boosting profile and the dad, said I've got an idea, how bout you let my kid do a short vid to test your theory out. If it works well or shows some promise we can go from there.

Or AucklandPhoenix is right.

Some more information... My dad works at New Zealand Golf, the old media manager, and family friend, ended up moving from NZ Golf to NZ Football. Not going to be anything big, just another fan-made video to raise some awareness about the season starting in a couple of weeks.

It's really only supposed to be a 'im the best phoenix fan in the world cos...' but i'm sure not many people care about my personal opinion on the phoenix and myself. I would rather do something to plug the student discounts on Phoenix memberships etc. Yes New Zealand Football aren't the best organisers, but sometimes I think you lot really try to pick at straws sometimes. God forbid someone from NZ football ask a football fan to participate in a fan video.

They would probably get told a few home truths. Good luck with your project. It could be quite interesting.

Tell a little story. Talk about you first Phoenix game. Favourite players. Game day preperations. Show your fan gear. Interview others what they think about your 'obsession'. What's you hope for next season. What it means for you. I, for example, watch games with my son, family, it is one of the things that we do together. Etc etc. Find online other fan videos to see how they do it, how the set it up. Maybe find someone that ask you those questions. Keep it short, maybe a minute or two, should not be documentary. Don't get discouraged if YOU think it is not that great, just do it, and don't listen to trolls.

I have an idea.  Flash a quick montage of a few different faces of people with gear/paint make it ethnically diverse (asian, maori, pacifica, european) males and females they may only need to say a word each the paragraph for why they support the team. Have a child finish it off.

Sorry sounds easier said then done but I look forward to what you do sounds like an awesome project to do.

If you're in Auckiand maybe something about supporting the team from afar? The match day in the local pub, etc? Game day is done to death.

Just saw your video Jay. Love your passion & commitment to mate. Well done. Who is or isn't the BIGGEST Phoenix fan is not worth the energy arguing over. As you say, it's about getting people to get behind the team.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Well said, we are all the same, we just look at the same issues differently Brandon. Anyone whom makes the effort deserves the acknowledgements. There's a few on here I don't always agree with but hey, they make the effort to contribute and I appreciate them spending their time to do so.

Link please Jay on this thread so others can flick onto it.......and Thanks.

Nice work Jay, also really pleased to see so many more social media tweets from NZ football this season about the Nix, pushing the memberships etc. Good to see them showing Wellington Phoenix the support.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.
