Spot the bitter Newcastle fan... you won C-Diddy, it's okay.

I'd sooner watch the All Whites than support the Jets!

Who do they send instead ?

Penalty Peter Green ?

Matthew 'random decision maker' Breeze ?

Ben 'I hate Wellington' Williams ?

The stocks aren't good.

I thought he was alright, although I guess I wouldn't be saying that if I was  a CCM fan. I don't think there is another A League ref who could have coped with all the pushing and shoving in the last five minutes. Up till then he had controlled a difficult game pretty well.

I dislike the FFA more than the referees.

They could always just send Michael Hester. Or Rakesh Kumar.

Three for me, and two for them.

With that list HN, Perhaps the FFA & The Australian referees association might actually endeavour to make a concious effort to improve their choices. Each of the ones you have mentioned have records that speak for themselves and none of it is complimentary. But rather than putting up with it, why dont they do something about it??

Complaining about refereeing standards is a worldwide phenomenon Gents, the link below is to yesterday's Evening Times newspaper in Glasgow. Interesting bit about the SFA having their own rules to combat diving!

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I'd love to be a ref. I've done a few kids games and the odd masters and enjoyed it and years ago I did a central League 3 game when a ref didn't show. Thank god it ended 3-3 as it was a testee game to say the least with a bit of niggle. Lonegunmen2008-02-27 12:16:51

Well according to the internet, they just had 54 referees in the Canary Islands 2 weeks ago from which they will choose the referees to go to the world cup.
Only 5 from this part of the world (Shield, Breeze, O'Leary, Hester and Varman) went.
