If a persons image is used to market a product is there an obligation to pay the person involved ie does Ricki get royalties for his face on the Retro Ricki fever t-shirts. The reason I ask this is that I am shown (very distinctly) many times every week on the A-League show intro to games and the highlights package. Can anyone shed light on my mission for free, easy money

The image doesn't even have to be taken in a public place. Just FROM a public place.
Thats why Paparazzi can snap photos of people inside there house from the footpath.

There is no obligation for anyone to pay Evertonians anything, anytime.
There is, however, an obligation for Evertonians to pay a king's ransom to whoever's mad enough to even contemplate using their image in the first place!!
