In Sydney this weekend if you buy a ticket to the Perth-Sydney match this weekend (at the Sydney Football Stadium), you also get free entry to the Souths-Roosters RL match on Friday night. The Sydney Swans were also keen to get in for their match at the same venue on the Saturday night, but with 20,000 members logistically this wasn't possible.

I have given Mrs Coogee a picture of me to remember what I look like, as I will be going to all of these (even though I'm not a great fan of any of the teams) plus the races on Saturday.

Given that there seems to be some animosity between Phoenix and Lions supporters, would a similar Cross Promotion be beneficial in Wellington?

The majority of supporters don't seem to be at odds too much here, although some people do tend to tire of the media ramming Union down our throats.

I'm not certain those that run the codes get along well enough for it to be viable though (and if the WRU run it as well as the reports I hear say they run the Temperance, it could be a shambles).

How's my driving? - Whine here

With the Rugby season winding down i don't think Rugby is an option although i think trying would be a good idea. Maybe do a cross promotion with the Firebirds for one of there 20/20 games over the summer. That would be a cool option

The ultimate ticket. Instead of a season ticket for each sport, buy a stadium ticket for 12 months at a time so you keep your seat for anything and everything!! (Including concerts - in my dreams)
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

I was thinking last year when the Saints were going off how good it would be if there was a joint football-basketball season ticket. The seasons don't clash and that is kinda the point - something (anything!) to go along and cheer about in the long months between A-League seasons.
Terry owns the "Century City" Saints so it should be do-able.

Now basketball itself isn't really my cup of tea but the atmosphere at the games was pretty good and I found myself getting into it. I suppose it helped that they were winning heaps last year...

Actually, I think you'll find that Nick Mills owns the Saints, Terry is just the sponsor.

But I kinda like the idea. I remember going to a few games back in the halcyon days of BB back in the 80's when the "Chancellor of the Exchequer" Kenny McFaden was king and the Saints ruled.

The atmosphere wasn't bad. Imagine a decent YF group getting a few good chants going in an enclosed space.

used to get free basketball tickets all the time, good, fast game to watch, nice atmosphere, and perhaps we could learn some Basketball chants for the RoF, DEFENCE!

Here is some inside info:

All season members for the Phoenix will get a ticket to see the Lions play someone, as will all the Lions season members get a ticket to see the Phoenix play.

It will be one time when they are both playing on the same Weekend.

I'm a season pass holder for both. Looks like I'll have some tickets to give away
