Is retiring from the All Whites and returning to play domestically in the NZFC for "a club in Auckland". Would he be good enough for a spot in the Phoenix? I know we've got McKain and Durante but a large squad is useful with injuries, etc

Interesting he's been one of my favourite National team players for awhile but he's a midfielder so who would he come in for, the injured Lia?

And surely Ricky would have known about this in advance.

There's already another thread on Ivan... and yeah, he had a chat with Ricki but nothing could be worked out - thats what he said on Sat arvo when he announced his retirement... he has a newborn and wanted to come home to Auckland and settle with the young family... seems reasonable enough... maybe if Auckland took their chances he would be playing... but I'm glad he isn't!!!
