He couldn't be worse than his commentaries

I believe the reason he is not playing for the nix is that he wanted to live in Auckland and travel to Wellington daily......

Hardly ideal now...

Hasn't he already decided that he's finished with pro football?

I think Dodd's been getting better. However he is still a liability with how often he picks up yellows!

I think that people are being far too hard on Dodd, there was one stage on sunday where he had the ball on the edge of the area and the fans around me where getting pissed at him for not passing. From what I could see there was no one getting free to pass to. Though I admit he had a pretty dodgy moment at the back when he tried to play the ball out off the CCM player.

That type of thing happened to other players as well, unfortunatly some of our players seem to think movement off the ball is just matter of a couple of steps and waving your hands in the air. What happens is the player with the ball cops all the flack not the ones that should have been receiving it.

Couple of other classiscs we spotted where i was standing was players bringing the ball out of defence out wide and instead of the wide receiving  player making movement towards our attacking goal they start by pulling their marker up into our midfield and decreasing the options of the player with the ball.

I must have been watching a different game. I thought Dodd on Sunday looked like someone who tries hard but has very limited ability. He was beaten plenty of times, has no gas, and can't pass.

He can tackle as the last man, can header and thus is by far better suited to the Centre of defence role, as a back up to Durante-McKain

Blimey Return of the Living thread

Fair enough, I'll be at work and not able to "shoot' anything, I hope he get's a pat on the back though, he did one very intelligent tackle that I thought was great at the time. Think it was against the Italians. I remember thinking he'd read it really well.

edit (during WC, I know some folk were not blown away but I thought at times he read the dangers really well).

He's not listed on the Chinese Wikipedia article for Shenzhen, so I'm thinking no.

He's in their list of players, but what i find interesting is the clubs nicknames..

"Youth Army, Phoenix"

Maybe someone got the team 'Phoenix' wrong for Ivan...

Just read the article in the Herald.    Good luck to him.
I'd like to know who his agent is. Our other players could always do with higher grade footie.
