I think Brockie could end up in the states in the next year, he's unlikely to get a spot with the Nix and less likely to get one at any other A-League club. On the issue of kiwis at Aussie clubs, if the OFC/AFC thing gets sorted out the Australian clubs will be after talented kiwi players, we saw that before the rules changed.

aren't Asian players foreign players in the A league anyway?, a serious question!

I think that Brockies goal against China will lead to big things for that boy. There are more football scouts watching the Olympic football than anything outside the WC,EC. They will all be looking for young talent. If Brockie plays well in the rest of the tournament then signing for an A_League club will be the minimum level he will obtain.

Brockie scored a cracker against the Olyroos in Sydney pre Olympics.....he will already be on the radar of at least Townsville and Gold Coast for next season.

I am living in France at the moment....his goal was shown on French TV. Brockies life will be very interesting in the few months after the Olympics. If he scores like that again then he could go anywhere.

as i thought so how is the OFC/AFC thing going to sort anything out
Yet more importantly why are Asian players foreign anyway, thought they might be running on the same lines as Europe

sory about getting off topic here

The issue is that since NZ players come from OFC, they can't be registered as domestic players in Australia which belongs to AFC.
The Nix is thus very special in this regard.

Its great to see Brockie back with the confidence he had at the Knights. He scored a couple of beauties back in those days too.

As posted in the other thread, he's not the only player to have stood out though>  Craig Henderson, who gave the pass, was really really good.  Ask Park Life about Hendo, he has a football crush on him

he's certainly on the radar, maybe next season when hes developed a bit!

2 years ago when he was with the knightz he was one of their best attacking players with pace, intelligence and penetrating runs, at the age of 18. The only thing developing further will do is make him too good for the phoenix and he wil get better options elswhere. Get him in a NIx shirt.
Oh Wellington is wonderful. We got the wind, the rain and the phoenix. Oh Wellington is wonderful.
