Fair call but when his forebear Dadi joined we were already going in the right direction..just seems strange to leave it till Jan for his arrival...we need the spark and effort to goal conversion now.

There's been some interesting Nix recruitments over these few years we've had the pleasure but this one sure will take the cake!
Many a fond memory of giving Joel Griffiths heaps in the fever zone or screaming at him on the telly..
That sending off at the RoF was an epic mass "Who are Ya " moment, when I remember feeling smugly self-righteous for thinking he was such a prick and after all, he had it coming!
Well maybe you'll get the last laugh Joel Griffiths. if you do the job for the Phoenix we'll probably all be happy to eat the humble pie you serve up
..well not quite all!! HN excepted.

Well...........who would have thought? Joel Griffith at the Nix. Good player IMO but WTF.
I will be 100% behind him if he does the business but you would want to see what sort of attitude he bought with him. The strenght of the nix last year was the way the whole team bonded...they were a tight unit. This year things appear different. You do wonder about some of the new imports like Jade North. Do they really want to be here? Do they fit in to the team ethos?
You could sign Christiano Ronaldo but if he was disruptive and an A-hole then it would not help the team(well maybe a little).
The other point would be are the Nix playing the right sort of football to get the best out of someone like Griffiths

Nuh I like this =D he is my mates brother inlaw. When I met him he seemed like a nice guy. Good eye for goals (which is a plus)

On the pitch he is a self-aggrandising c**t of Kruse proportions. It's going to take him being a completely different person for me to be happy to see him in black and yellow.

bollocks to all this "ooohhh, I don't really like him so I am not sure how I will react to him being a phoenix player". As soon as he pulls on the shirt, he is one of us - end of story. If (and it is a massive if) he turns out to be a useless, lazy, disruptive tosspot c**t him off all you like, but until that day comes (and it won't - mark my words) we welcome him to the club with open arms, we cheer every peice of brilliance and we forgive every mistake, just like we do with all our other players

Great signing. True #9. I think he'll work well with Greenacre. Just my 2c.

he shoots
he misses
his name is Joel Griffiths?
I dunno . . do we really need him?
well, I suppose the last 3 games answers that question doesn't it?

Very good signing. This guy has been the MVP of the A league and the golden boot. The fact that his personality is questionable at best is irrelevant when you look at his record. We need to win games and score goals, and Joel will help us do that.

I seem to recall in A-League season 2 when the Knights were still battling away bravely (I think that's when it was) I was thinking that Griffiths is the type of player I'd love to have on my team. That was before I realized just how much of a d-bag he is. This is going to pain me greatly but we need goals and we need points.
As an Arsenal fan, you must be used to cheering on unpleasant players

I'll give you that one despite it's obvious lack of truth.

Mmmmm. . . . if there is a coach in the A-League that can handle him, surely Ricki can. Look we don't have to love the guy, only need to accept him as he is for the team.
At the moment the way things are going, it's a two way street, he has to get along with us and if he can do that, then we can get along with him as well. Former international players that play for us, soon learn to get back into their respective national squad in good form and they would have Ricki to thank for it.
Can't hurt to see if he fits in well enough. Might the shot in the arm for the team we are looking for. We need some pace up front as well as a finisher of note, let see what he got for us.

decent proven player, decent signing imo. i don't really give a sh*t about his actions in the past, if he can score us goals and shows his hunger when in and around the box I'll be happy. I mean he'll do a better job than Mac in supporting Greenie for sure.

Remember when we signed Liam reddy and there was all this "Why did we sign him?? hes a cocky prick" well he turned out to be a major cause in our run in the playoffs. So as soon as Griffiths pulls on that jersey, does something brilliant, salutes the fever, we should support him like we do for Ifill or Dura..
