What chance of nicking him from under Sydney's Nose's?
Seems a bit disillusioned with SFC's Offer.
Oi Ross have a chat to ya bro!!

Oi Terri - Free up the funds!
Oi Ricki - Make the purchase!

Not a bad thought. Though, he's focused on Sydney, not
sure about his motivation. If we can sort out his motivation
then great, he's a decent playmaker.

Always thought or read somewhere he wanted to join up originally
with Ross at Adelaide?

That would be great but maybe with us having an almost full squad
it my throw thing a bit?

No he's overrated, decent player but not good enough to offer him
huge wages. I'm not really a fan of marquee players I don't think
it helps team moral to have one player earning far more than the
rest of his team mates, when it reality he does not contribute much
more than them.

O theres no doubt if we had the funds and enough to make him come
here we would make that signing, but can we????
Nope, sydney's looking like the place e wants to go but if
internal affairs keep stalling his move well then, we might
just.

Yeah your right Marquee signings don't work?? Try Dwight Yorke V1
and Archie Thompson V2.

No Chance what so ever of him coming here. Got ya head in the clouds

He was desperate to play this season with Ross at Adelaide and made
mention of this in various interviews, so it would not be in
possible if we had room under the salary cap to put in a cheeky
offer and try and tempt him here.
But with him turning down the Roar I cannot imagine he would
take a risk into the unknown with the Phoenix.

...and both the Clogs and Sydney were/are offering Marquee $$
beyond the cap.

I asked Ricki about this when I interviewed him way back
when. He said there had been no conversations at all, and
that he wasn't on the radar at all... I'd be surprised if that had
changed.
I personally think he'd be a wonderful player for the
A-League, he's got a bit of personality and no doubt he'll score
goals. Sydney are playing a dangerous game, once you get the
penny pinching rep. then people won't be willing to get into
negotiations...
