Well Everyone i would love to see your opinion on John Tambouras. I
thnk the majority of us like him as a player and would be glad to
see him in the Phoenix!! GREAT NEWS! Spoke to John today and he
really wants to come and his agent is trying to get intouch with
ricky. But he may get snapped up by another A league club so ye
hopefully he comes. He is trialling with other a league teams at
the moment however he has said Wellington is the team he wants to
play for!

My only concern is his passing ability.
Now we have 3 central defenders...O'dor, Old & Dodd.
And from all source Ricki is chasing a Brazillian Defender. So I think Ricki wants to have 4 central defenders including 1 quality import. If he fails to sign a quality import for that position, then he will look at Tambo..

Johns a great guy, talked with him lots when he was with the
Kingz but if I was the coach no way would I sign him. He's not up
to this level. I seen way to many mistakes he's made that have
gifted goals. You dont sign a guy just cause he's nice.

How did he turn the defence around? I recall the defence
getting better once Ricki came on board but it wasnt Tambo that
turned it around.
I think if Ricki wanted him, and he wanted to come, he would
be signed by now. I guess Ricki, who has now caoched him,
dosent rate him either.

Hardly the 2nd half, he came into the team in round 17, with 5
games to go, when Ricki was coach. You dont form a good partnership
straight away. The whole team cuture was changed than so it cant be
attributed to Tambo.
If we want an average team we will get it by signing average
players such as Tambo and Christe but I for one want so much more
than these guys can deliver.

Ye i get what u mean but Tambos not average. Christie i agree is a boring simple player. And think about it Stephen OLD Absolute average!!! less then 5 games or smething in a league. Tambos much better. More experienced as he jst played overseas in romania. If we dont sign him then Queensland will. up to ricky.

Quite true actually. I originally hoped we would be seeing
Tambo but the signing of Dodd who is a similar player but with
European experience has made Tambo's chances of a contract less
likely.

Seeing as their all quite similar players i think hell just put
together the first squad based on reputation, or form (preseaon
cup). Well just have to wait and see.

Yeah I am with Oi Oi where I cant see us being succesful this
season and having either O'Dor or Old starting each week.
We are clearly still a starting centre back short and I can't
see why Ricki has not signed Tambo - he is proven in this
league.

O'Dor will develop into a fine young centre back. Nothing special
just solid.
His currently playing with South Melbourne in the VPL so he
will come to us fit. He showed signs of a young talent in the
making for the Knights. Will be helped along by Dodd and whatever
advice the coaching staff want to give him.

Boyens won't come back to NZ (for now). he's playing in a good
league, that'll have plenty of media coverage world wide soon
(Becks)...the money wouldnt be any better either. It would be great
to get him back there though.
