Probably looking for a 4pm start. We could do Karori park like last time, or we can go to Kaiwharawhara, mainly because it has some junior goals we could use. It's a bitch to get to though, and parking is often a problem if you have more than 5 people turning up.

As for PMing, well, I like to give people options....

I can rustle up some portable goals I think, so let's go for the better surface and superior parking.smithy2462008-01-24 11:17:16

Mount Albert Park, Berhampore has senior goals- Actually they are more like youth goals
and the Africans play across the road so if we get bored of kicking lumps out of each otehr we can challenge them

then there is always Newtown #2

Smithy, if you can organise the goals my preference would be for Karori park - big ground, well-known and easy to get to, and good overall facilites (well, excepting late season in July, but that's a different story).

My fiendish plan to have it in my own backyard is thwarted!

I can do goals, no problem.  Can also do bibs and balls.

You pick a time and guarantee a turnout and I'll organise the gear.

It takes me at least 25 minutes to put my boots on, so you'll be right...

I'll try and make it but I'm busy. I"ll probably be late if I can make it. So boots and shin pads or will i be alright in shoes?
Permalink Permalink
about 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Ok hopefully I get an answer this time. Are boots needed? And if so are rugby boots ok to play football in?
Permalink Permalink
about 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
No need for shin pads, it's just a friendly kickaround.
You can wear boots if you wish (I will), or you can wear normal running shoes if you want, up to you really.
The ground will probably be quite hard, so if you have rugby boots with long metal studs you may get some serious blisters, but again up to you...

Well, yes it was good fun, even if there was some concern over whether Feverish would spill his last few meals on the pitch at any moment...
Cheers to everyone who turned up, effort lads..

I'm sure it could be turned into a regular event (at least in the off-season), but I'll be away over the next few weekends so sadly won't be able to participate. Sure someone else could get it organised though.

Re: Hutt valley fans V Wellington fans. One kick-about in wellington and then 2 weeks later one out in the Hutt?? I might even come out of retirement for it!

Easy fix, the Wellington fans can meet up somewhere and travel as a group and give a lift to those who need it. likewise the hutt Valleys fans when going to Wellington.

Ps: One lot wear reto rickis to save confusion

Can you arrange a police escort a la Melbourne so that we can guarantee safe passage!

Harry why don't you take charge any organise the next one. A few posts on here is all it should take, although el_graps mates who aren't forum members would need to be told.

Sweet I can do that. As long as someone brings those poles/posts again, and maybe a ball although I do have a Phoenix one.

And for those games in the hutt LG can organise them.
