Good luck to him. Wouldn't of blamed him if he kicked up some sort of fuss at being on the bench, but by all accounts was professional to a tee; unlike his compatriot.

He was a lot of fun.  A bundle of energy, sometimes misplaced, but he produced some great moments for us.  Will miss him.  Best wishes Kenny.

I think the key with our new foreign player is to target someone who is well above a league standard but is a recluse and just wants to hibernate in his apartment for a couple of years

Not sure it's not for athletes. Disco Troy is one that springs to mind

You just answered your own question.

Seriously: Playing for Charlestown in the Northern NSW League, and not in jail for disco biscuits.

Hmmm, yeah. The party people around the Viaduct or K' Road of a Friday night are always saying "this sucks, I wish I was on Courtenay Place".

I thought he was under utilised by Ricki and he did a decent enough job at RB despite being a forward whom Ricki never played in that position - I don't think, anyway.

LOL

This is not the first time I have heard comments by  Nix players about the "ummmm" certain lack of attractions of our fair city. Some of the Latin players in the past have struggled with our fresh climate...Felipe for one.. i had a laugh when Griffith recently said something along the lines of " I thought Wellington was a cold windy dump but having been here a while there are a few good bars and restaurants"

Us born and bred Wellingtonians love the place but you have to admit, climate wise....it is hardly Brisbane, Sydney...or Costa Rica.

I thought Kennys comments were refreshingly honest.I get sick of sports people mouthing hollow platitudes. I'm a Wellingtonian living off shore....when I come back now to visit  the town does seem windy and cold with not much happening

As they say: it is what it is.

Wellington is hardly the French Mediterranean, nor is it Birmingham. It's not everything to everyone - but nowhere is.

Most choices and opportunities in life contain some level of compromise... as they do for professional footballers.

Wish Kenny the best of luck.  Was sometimes frustrating to watch (offside!!) but gave his all when playing for the top team.

Think the last ten minutes of the game against City summed up his efforts & attitude recently - the match seemed to be heading towards an inevitable loss, but Kenny was going all out to spark something when he could of quite easily just jogged around the park.

They're not making 'don't drink and fry' adds around the viaduct or k road are they?

:P

BTW, can't stand courtney place past a certain point in the night.

As a Wellington expat I do love the place but I like Auckland's weather and ethnic mix better (plus I married a born-and-bred JAFA).

Of course not, those ultra-rich snobs in the Viaduct bars couldn't operate a frying pan sober.

I thought it was because the distance from the viaduct bars to the residential areas was so large, they all sobered up before the even got Close to Home.

Yes when you get that drunk it is hard work seeing all the sober drinkers.

Yes, I was referring to the shores of Europe generally. Because Western Europe as a whole is warmer than the average for its latitude because of the Gulf Stream and wind patterns over the Atlantic

There are such things as inner city apartments these days. I can personally walk from my place to K'Road on a good night. But I digress.

I think you find those don't drink and fry adverts are around fort street (the red light seedy distinct of the CBD). That's where you head if you don't score a normal one at the viaduct

No that is The Courtenay Place famous around the world.

All the Kebab shops have upgraded and flourished with the free national advertising

Now back to Kenny a great ambassador for the club.
