Do you think Roy Krishna should have got a Phoenix contract cause the Fury will received the benefit

If he's not what we are looking for, which seems to be the case, then no.
Good luck to him.

...and in 4 weeks and two games he never looked like he wanted it.

Against a Wellington selection and Miramar he should have shone and he didn't.  Good luck to him.

are we not using the NZFC as a breeding ground for the Phoenix

Nah I do believe that we need a big targetman. someone to contend in the air that is a head above the rest is best. hopefully astro shows his real skills tonight and we sign him, but only thing I have seen from him is his pace. Hope Krishna does well for whoever picks him up and maybe we'll get him back another year if he turns out to rise to the occasion in the A-league.

Yes, and surely giving a player a 4 week trial to prove they can step us doing exactly that.

Currently the Phoenix have 3 NZ-U20 players, Marco Rojas and the U17 keeper training with them.  They are working hard on getting a side in the NZFC so they can sign New Zealand youth and Ben Sigmund took his chance last year.

you gotta trust management. they had a big look at him, so if they haven't offered him a contract, I think they will have their reasons. besides, how do we know that Glory will offer him a contract?

Why would Glory offer him a deal? You mean Fury?

Reading the papers today, they said they wont be offering him (or the other triallists) anything in a hurry, because they want to have a good look around.

Also their situation is compicated because Fowler is still injured and I think they will  hold off in case they have  to buy someone good if he doesnt look like he will come right.

Sources in Aus say Krishna isn't in and never has been in Townsville.  Smacks of a media or agent beat-up.

Your Sources been on the sauce??
Maybe it takes a while for news to travel down from the Bight

This is from a report on the match against the Mariners on Sunday night

""
The introduction of Fred Agius and Roy Krishna gave Fury an added edge as both are capable of beating players at speed with clever footwork, but the Mariners defence, marshalled by captain Alex Wilkinson, held firm.

Brendon Santalab had a half chance when he met a right wing cross, but was unable to get enough on his header to direct the ball to the target.

Santalab had a better opportunity, but Wilkinson did enough to worry the Fury player forcing him to shoot tamely at keeper Danny Vukovich.

The second half saw Fury attack with greater numbers and more urgency and during a frantic final 15 minutes Vukovic was forced to save at the feet of Krishna and then grasp a Matthew Smith header which may have tested him more, had Smith not directed his effort into the pitch, losing power from the header.""

Krishna getting closer at the Fury, they have asked him to stay on trialling

""Krishna has no concerns in that department, again showing plenty against an experienced Brisbane defence and having a hand in four strong second-half chances.

Ferguson said he hoped to play the 21-year-old against Gold Coast next week.

"Young Roy has probably been the shining light of the lot of them," he said.

"He's one we'll keep tabs on, I'm hoping we will keep him on for another week or so.

"I want to get him on a good surface, good stadium and we might see more, because he's a quality player with great composure, great pace and he frightens people when he runs at them."

If the Fury do decide to sign Krishna, they would need to release one of their five contracted visa players, with yet-to-arrive Felipe seeming the most likely candidate.""

Felipe has done a runner so hopefully for Fiji's sack he gets a go at the Fury

If those comments from Ferguson are near the truth will he come back and haunt us?

A chance, but at this stage we need to spend out money to fill different gaps in the squad.
