Yanked from the MLS Galaxy page

Goalkeepers (3): Joe Cannon, Steve Cronin and Lance Friesz.
Defenders (4): Chris Albright, Ante Jazic, Troy Roberts and Kyle Veris.
Midfielders (6): David Beckham, Kevin Harmse, Quavas Kirk, Chris Klein, Josh Tudela and Peter Vagenas.
Forward (6): Edson Buddle, Mike Caso, Landon Donovan, Alan Gordon, Clint Mathis and Carlos Pavon.

Of those 19 players, two are unlikely to see any action as Alan Gordon and Quavas Kirk are still not match fit. Earlier this month, Gordon underwent surgery on his left foot to correct lingering problem that plagued him for most of the 2007 season. He will join Kirk, who is rehabbing a case of plantar fasciitis in his left foot, in working with the Galaxy medical staff to continue their rehab work.

Defenders Ty Harden and Abel Xavier will not make the trip as a result of injury, nor will midfielder Kyle Martino. Both Harden and Martino underwent a hernia operation in Milwaukee earlier today while Xavier remains in Portugal rehabbing a left knee injury.

Kelly Gray, Mike Randolph and Israel Sesay are all healthy but will not make the trip for various reasons. Gray, who was acquired by the Galaxy in July, is scheduled to be married in Northern California on December 1 and will therefore miss out, while Sesay has already returned to his hometown of Gaithersburg, Md. for the offseason.

Randolph will remain in Los Angeles after having been named to the U.S. Under-23 National Team's provisional roster for their upcoming camp. The U.S. roster is expected to be announced next week and if Randolph is named in the squad, it will be his first career call-up to the National Team at any level.

Cobi Jones has retired, and is now LA's new assistant coach, so he will not be on the roster either. Which is a shame, I was looking forward to seeing him in action. Any chance we might be able to rope him and Gullit into a kickaround before the match?

Your dedication to the cause is impressive!  Up at 2am to bring us the travelling squad.  Owe you one.  I see the DomPost today notes that Beckham and co will be in Sydney on Sunday to watch Sydney's A-league match with Queensland.  It's like waiting for Christmas!

What else could he have done?

it was good to see Johnathan Millmow give a positive write-up in the DomPost about the Beckham visit - just sent him an email to that effect

I'm gutted Xavier isn't coming.

I was planning on stalking him and buying him a beer

That, or I need to have a serious talk with my GP regarding the effectiveness of my sleep medication

After a quick read up on Wikipedia, there are some pretty good players in their squad, especially up front.

Mathis hasn't played for Galaxy yet but sounds like a bit of a show pony (as you expect from strikers), Pavon is a Honduras legend who also knows where the goal is, and Vagenas has played 188 games for the Galaxy and is only 29.

Incidently Cobi Jones played 305 games for the Galaxy and scored 70 goals!  With a smallish roster 14 fit outfielders, who knows, maybe they'll get him to strip - it's an exhibition game afterall!

It is a pity about Xavier, he sounds a character, and they are pretty light on defenders.  Just like us really so maybe it will be a 7-6 goal thriller (the the 'Nix of course!)

Donovan for me... he's quality at his best but can also be a bit of a Joel Griffiths.  Either way we get something out of it.

"It's just like watching Griffiths"
